Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep Stun in First ‘Devil Wears Prada 2’ Teaser

The original cast of The Devil Wears Prada is reuniting for a sequel, and a short teaser trailer was released on Sunday. The trailer, shared by 20th Century Studios, offers fans a 30-second glimpse of what the characters are up to twenty years after the first movie.

In a memorable scene from the movie, Emily Blunt’s character, Emily Charlton, playfully jabs at Anne Hathaway’s character, Andy Sachs. She tells Andy, “You’ve changed – you’re much more confident now,” then adds with a teasing tone, “But you still haven’t changed your eyebrows!” This short exchange captures the fun, competitive dynamic between the two characters, bringing back memories of the film’s famous rivalries.

The studio teased the full trailer on social media, saying simply, “Trailer tonight. That’s all.”

The first film told the story of Andy Sachs, who worked as an assistant to the strict and powerful magazine editor Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep). Now, according to Variety, the sequel will explore what happens as the magazine world changes, with Priestly facing new difficulties. Meanwhile, Emily Charlton has become a successful executive at a luxury brand, leading to conflict over important advertising deals.

The film features a talented cast including Stanley Tucci, Kenneth Branagh, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, and Conrad Ricamora, alongside stars like Hathaway, Streep, and Blunt. David Frankel, who directed the original, and writer Aline Brosh McKenna have reunited to bring this story back to the big screen.

Emily Blunt recently joked to Entertainment Tonight about the often-contentious relationship between her and Meryl Streep in their movies. “It’s funny, Meryl and I always seem to be at odds with each other on screen. I’m not sure why, but hopefully we can change that!” she said.

Emily Blunt reflected on returning to the film series after twenty years, saying it felt like time had flown by. She told PORTER magazine that making the sequel was personally meaningful, explaining it held strong emotional connections for many involved.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set to hit theaters on May 1.
