Tiffany Pollard, the reality TV star known as “New York,” has publicly criticized Nicki Minaj’s recent support for Donald Trump. Pollard shared her honest opinions on Minaj’s political stance during a discussion in West Hollywood this week.

As a longtime fan, I was really disappointed to hear about the direction this rapper is taking. It honestly felt like a slap in the face, especially coming from someone who’s built a career with a lot of support from the LGBTQ+ community. Pollard, who recently shared they’re queer and non-binary, put it perfectly – it just doesn’t sit right with me.

In early 2026, Nicki Minaj’s shift in political views is a hot topic. For years, she openly criticized conservative ideas, but now she’s publicly supporting the MAGA movement.

In December 2025, Nicki Minaj unexpectedly appeared at a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix with Erika Kirk, the wife of the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk. While discussing faith and leadership, Minaj jokingly – but surprisingly – called Vice President J.D. Vance an “assassin” while intending to compliment him as someone to look up to, causing a mix of amusement and shock from the audience.

As a longtime fan, it’s tough to see what’s happening with Nicki Minaj. While the Barbz still adore her music, her recent comments have really divided people, and honestly, it feels like she’s strayed from what made her great. I think she needs a fresh outlook, and this is going to sound crazy, but I kind of agree with the suggestion that she chat with Bruce Springsteen! He’s never been afraid to speak his mind, especially when it comes to challenging authority, and maybe that’s the kind of perspective she needs right now.

Throughout late 2025 and 2026, Bruce Springsteen gained attention for his strong criticism of President Trump. He often interrupted his concerts to call the administration “corrupt” and “treasonous.”

Pollard jokingly suggested that spending time with Bruce Springsteen could broaden Nicki Minaj’s political perspective. He clarified that he meant this as a friendly, mentoring idea, not a romantic one, saying she should simply let him share his views with her.

Tiffany Pollard has also been navigating a lot lately. They came out as non-binary in October 2025, explaining that this label feels right because they experience both feminine and masculine sides of themselves. As they told PinkNews, they are committed to openly advocating for the LGBTQ+ community and will not hide who they are.

Although Nicki Minaj has become more outspoken about her traditional beliefs, even postponing her album planned for March 2026 to pursue other projects, New York remains optimistic that Minaj will reconsider her stance. Meanwhile, New York is concentrating on their own career, recently appearing on season two of House of Villains and continuing to build their profile in reality television.

Nicki Minaj’s support for the Trump-Vance proposals has definitely altered her relationship with many of her dedicated fans. It’s unclear if she’ll follow advice to align herself with more liberal figures like Bruce Springsteen.
