As a horror fan, I’ve been waiting for something really good, and let me tell you, Weapons is pretty close to perfect. Last Halloween was full of jump scares, and this movie delivers that same energy. I’m so glad Amy Madigan is finally getting the recognition she deserves – a Best Supporting Actress nomination is well-earned! It’s a genuinely creepy film, but with a smart, darkly funny edge. Seriously, you need to see this one to get the full effect, and the best part is, it’s streaming on HBO Max.
Hamnet – Watch in Theaters
Inspired by the real-life story behind Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Hamnet is a beautifully adapted and deeply moving film. Directed by Chloe Zhang, it’s up for eight awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and a Best Actress nomination for Jessie Buckley, who delivers a stunning performance as Agnes. As a total animation fan, I was thrilled to see it’s up for two Oscars – Best Original Song for ‘Golden’ and Best Animated Feature. Apparently, it’s also officially the most-watched movie ever on Netflix! Seriously, if you haven’t checked it out yet, you can find KPop Demon Hunters streaming on Netflix.
Jurassic World Rebirth – Stream on Peacock
The newest Jurassic Park movie, Jurassic World Rebirth, is a thrilling ride. While it might not be the most profound film nominated, it’s highly entertaining. With stunning visuals, engaging characters, and exciting dinosaur action, it delivers exactly what you’d expect.
