Chris Noth has publicly discussed the end of his friendship with Sarah Jessica Parker. The actor, who played Mr. Big in Sex and the City, revealed his feelings during an interview on the Really Famous With Kara Mayer Robinson podcast.
Noth didn’t mince words when discussing Parker, stating plainly, “We’re not friends – that’s pretty clear.” He explained that the sexual assault allegations made against him in late 2021 caused their friendship to end.
Noth was upset by a public statement released by Parker and her And Just Like That… co-stars, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, showing support for the women who spoke out.
He felt deeply betrayed by a public statement. “It seemed less about the truth and more about protecting their brand,” Noth explained, adding that he was saddened, disappointed, and surprised they hadn’t contacted him to get his perspective. He felt especially hurt because of their long-standing professional relationship, and that they hadn’t even bothered to reach out.
He saw the situation as a revealing look at how loyalty works in Hollywood, clearly showing him who his real friends were versus those who just cared about maintaining a good image. He remarked, “It’s typical Hollywood behavior,” but then added that anyone wanting to understand what really happened should call him directly. He felt those who knew him for years should reach out for the full story before jumping to conclusions.
Recent online activity brought old tensions between actors Chris Noth and Parker back to light when Noth seemed to support a fan’s negative comment about Parker’s Golden Globe award. Noth later downplayed the situation, calling it a minor disagreement, but it showed that there’s still friction between the two former co-stars.
In December 2021, accusations against Chris Noth surfaced, resulting in his removal from the Sex and the City reboot and his CBS series, The Equalizer. While Noth has denied any wrongdoing regarding non-consensual encounters, he did admit to having affairs, which he described as a “side dance.”

Directed by Craig Singer, the movie centers on a horror writer who overcomes writer’s block, but at a terrifying price. This marks Noth’s first significant role in several years, and he’ll be acting alongside Jack Falahee and Jackie Earle Haley.
