Zack Snyder Stuns Fans With Rare Comic Book Collection: Batman, Superman, Marvel

Zack Snyder is getting fans talking again, but this time he’s not sharing old photos from the DC Universe.

The filmmaker shared photos on Instagram from his meeting with billionaire Ayman Hariri, and revealed an incredible collection of rare comic books. The photos included some of the most sought-after issues ever printed, like the first editions of Action Comics, Superman, Batman, and Marvel Comics.

Zack Snyder shared a recent experience, saying some days just feel surreal. He was hanging out with his friend Ayman Hariri, who has an incredible comic book collection—including a copy of Action Comics #1! He encouraged people to find Ayman on the VERO app.

This post follows a pattern of Zack Snyder recently sharing nostalgic DC Universe content, and it’s quickly gaining attention. While this particular collection isn’t his own, the fact that he’s showcasing iconic items from DC’s early days – and mentioning the VERO and Hariri characters – has fans excited and speculating.

Who is Ayman Hariri?

Ayman Hariri is a wealthy businessman and helped create the social media app VERO. With Saudi Arabian roots, he is the son of Rafic Hariri, a former Lebanese Prime Minister, and comes from a family with close connections to Saudi Arabia. Ayman previously worked with Saudi Oger, a construction company owned by his family.

Action Comics #1, Batman #1, and More

In the photos Snyder is seen holding CGC-graded copies of Action Comics #1 and Superman #1.

A pristine Batman #1 is shown in protective casing.

A highly-rated copy of Marvel Comics #1 – the comic book where the original Human Torch and Namor the Sub-Mariner first appeared – can also be seen.

Additional high-grade copies of Action Comics #10 and Superman #1 are seen lined up on Hariri’s couch

These comics are incredibly valuable and highly sought after, with some worth millions of dollars. For example, a well-preserved copy of Action Comics #1 in CGC 9.0 condition sold for $3.2 million in 2022, and a Batman #1 in comparable condition could fetch between $1 and $2 million.

Fan Speculation Continues

While Snyder didn’t tease any new DC project directly, fans are reading between the panels.

I’ve been noticing all of James Gunn’s recent posts – photos of Henry Cavill as Superman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ben Affleck’s Batman, and even a copy of The Dark Knight Returns on his bookshelf! It’s got me thinking… with Netflix or Paramount possibly buying Warner Bros. Discovery, could we actually see a revival of Zack Snyder’s vision for the DC Universe? It’s definitely getting me excited about the possibilities!
