David and Victoria Beckham are known for prioritizing family, so it’s gotten a lot of attention that their son, Brooklyn, has publicly accused them of trying to control his life and create a specific public image for him. After Brooklyn, 26, shared a detailed message on Instagram explaining his feelings and stating he doesn’t want to reconcile with his parents, David responded. He called his son’s comments a ‘mistake’ but also expressed support, acknowledging that young people are bound to make them, and pointed to the influence of social media.
David Beckham shares thoughts on son Brooklyn Beckham’s tell-all notes
David Beckham recently discussed his son Brooklyn’s public claims on CNBC’s Squawk Box. Brooklyn had alleged that the Beckham family attempted to sabotage his relationship with Nicola Peltz before their wedding. Beckham acknowledged the power – and potential dangers – of social media, saying he’s seen both sides, especially with his own children, and encourages using it responsibly.
He explained that he’s been working with UNICEF to raise awareness about issues affecting children. Without mentioning his children by name – including Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper Seven – he shared that he tries to teach them about responsible social media use. He believes it’s okay for children to make mistakes, as that’s how they learn, and he encourages letting them learn from those experiences.
Brooklyn Beckham claimed his mother abruptly canceled plans to make his wife’s wedding dress. He also said she argued about where guests would sit and embarrassed him and his new bride by taking over their first dance.
