As a big fan of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, I’m a little worried to see the numbers dropping. The latest data shows that Episode 3 of Season 2 had almost half as many viewers as the first season’s episodes did. It’s definitely a concerning trend, and I hope things turn around!
Between December 15th and 21st, the third episode of Percy Jackson Season 2 was watched for a total of 410 million minutes in the United States.
Viewership has fallen significantly. The latest episode logged far fewer minutes watched compared to the third episode of Season 1 – a decrease of 41%, dropping from 700 million minutes.

Percy Jackson Ratings Keep Falling
Each new episode of Percy Jackson Season 2 has seen a drop in viewership, confirming initial signs that the season is losing its audience.
Here’s the weekly breakdown so far:
- Season 1 Episodes 1 & 2: 572 million minutes
- Season 2 Episodes 1 & 2: 508 million minutes
- Season 1 Episode 3: 700 million minutes
- Season 2 Episode 3: 410 million minutes
It’s normal for viewership to dip slightly between episodes, but a drop of almost 50% between seasons for the same episode is a major concern, particularly for a show Disney previously believed had strong potential.

A sinking ship
Episode 4 of Season 1 generated 627 million viewing minutes. However, because Episode 3 of Season 2 had low numbers, we anticipate a decrease in viewership for future episodes.
As we’ve gone over, the Season 1 finale also brought in 575 million minutes. So the decline is real.
Disney+ automatically includes Nielsen’s viewership tracking for all user accounts. This means the data shows how people in the U.S. actually watch the service, rather than being based on a limited group of viewers.
Season 3 Is Greenlit, But The Numbers Don’t Look Good
Disney has already renewed Percy Jackson and the Olympians for a third season, which will cover The Titan’s Curse. However, falling viewership numbers might threaten the show’s future beyond that.
