Chris Noth has responded to the backlash caused by a recent Instagram comment that appeared to be directed at his former “Sex and the City” colleague, Sarah Jessica Parker. He shared a post on Wednesday to explain his comment and ease the online debate it sparked.

Noth said his reaction was a quick, somewhat sarcastic one. He posted on Instagram, calling the resulting online uproar “a lot of fuss over nothing.” He added that it wasn’t newsworthy and a waste of time when there are more pressing issues in the world.
Okay, so this whole thing started with a gym selfie Chris Noth posted on January 9th. He wrote, “F New Year’s – LET’S GO!!!!” and someone replied, jokingly I think, asking if he meant to say “f Sarah Jessica Parker and her award?” – a dig at the Golden Globe’s Carol Burnett Award she’d just gotten. And honestly? Noth just replied with a single word: “Right.”

Seeing this all unfold brought back some really disturbing accusations against Chris Noth. Back in December 2021, two women came forward with allegations of s assault. One woman, who went by the name Zoe, shared her story with The Hollywood Reporter, claiming she was assaulted in Los Angeles back in 2004. Another, a journalist named Lilly, alleged an assault in New York City in 2015. Noth completely denied everything, saying the claims were absolutely false.
After the accusations surfaced, Chris Noth was fired from his roles on the CBS show “The Equalizer” and the “Sex and the City” revival, “And Just Like That.” Sarah Jessica Parker, along with co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, released a statement saying they were very upset to hear the allegations and stood in support of the women who had come forward with their experiences, recognizing how difficult it must have been for them to share.
Despite Noth’s attempt to address the online reaction on Instagram, people are still talking about his comment and past actions.
