Tatiana Maslany Mocks Marvel and Avengers Rumors: ‘It’s Woke Feminist Stuff’

Tatiana Maslany isn’t holding back (or maybe she is?!).

Tatiana Maslany, who plays She-Hulk, addressed recent rumors about the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a lot of sarcasm and playful teasing during an interview on the Comedy Bang! Bang! podcast.

Responds to Deadpool & Wolverine rumors

Maslany jokingly addressed rumors that she was removed from the Deadpool & Wolverine movie and wouldn’t appear in Avengers: Doomsday because of a disagreement with Disney.

She playfully predicted some media attention, saying, “I can already see the article coming, and I’ve already been through a lot with this!” She explained that she was fired after a director disliked her performance in two scenes, which led to a legal battle with both Disney and Ryan Reynolds.

Avengers Return

After podcast host Scott Aukerman jokingly suggested she’d be in Avengers: Doomsday, Tatiana Maslany played along, adding to the fun with more playful exaggeration.

Tatiana Maslany confirmed she turned down Disney’s offer to reprise her role as She-Hulk. She explained she had just finished playing the character and felt frustrated by the speculation and articles suggesting she hadn’t been asked back. Maslany expressed her anger at what she perceived as hypocrisy, sarcastically questioning why a woman was even considered for the part, framing it as a matter of feminist principle.

She jokingly revealed that she had been asked to appear in a large-scale, Avengers-like disaster film called ‘Doomsday,’ but she declined the offer, and was now publicly confirming that decision.

Although she was clearly joking, some online fans think her comments might contain a little bit of truth.

She-Hulk’s Future in the MCU Looks Grim

Tatiana Maslany spoke up following rumors that Marvel Studios had decided to leave She-Hulk out of future projects.

There was a recent report that Marvel hoped to feature She-Hulk prominently in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars movie, but Tatiana Maslany reportedly turned down the role due to concerns with Disney.

More than likely, the decision may be Marvel’s.

Despite being a Marvel character with potential, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law didn’t perform well on Disney+. Many viewers and critics found issues with the show’s humor, storyline, and visual effects. Considering recent budget reductions and a shift in Disney+’s content strategy, it appears the studio is unlikely to revisit She-Hulk in the future.
