Wow, 2025 was an incredible year for gaming on my phone! It felt like a turning point, with games looking and playing like they came straight from consoles, plus a ton of really creative games built just for mobile. Everyone, from the big companies to smaller indie developers, really pushed what Android phones could do. We got everything – fast-paced action games, relaxing life sims, and a whole lot more. It really cemented Android as a place to go for both competitive online play and amazing story-driven adventures. This list is my take on the best and most memorable games that came out over the last year.
‘Dune: Awakening’ (2025)

Dune: Awakening is a large-scale, online survival game for mobile devices set on the dangerous planet Arrakis. Created by Funcom, the game challenges players to endure intense heat, sandstorms, and giant sandworms while collecting the valuable Spice. Players can create their own bases and team up with others to control important resources. The game features impressive graphics that bring the desert world to life on mobile, offering a full online experience on the go.
‘The First Berserker: Khazan’ (2025)

‘The First Berserker: Khazan’ is a challenging action RPG set in the world of ‘Dungeon & Fighter’. Developed by Nexon, the game follows General Khazan’s quest for revenge. It features a demanding combat system inspired by ‘souls-like’ games, requiring precise timing, blocking, and complex attack combinations. The game boasts beautiful, cartoon-style graphics and runs smoothly on powerful Android devices, offering a rewarding experience for players who enjoy intricate gameplay.
‘Mecha BREAK’ (2025)

I’m really into this new game, ‘Mecha BREAK’! It’s a fast-paced multiplayer game where you get to control these awesome, customizable robots. Amazing Seasun Games did a great job letting you pick different mech types – I’ve been playing as a brawler, but you can also be a sniper or support. The battles are huge, with teams fighting both on the ground and in the air to complete objectives. What’s really cool is how much you can customize your mech – everything from weapons to how it looks. It basically brings the feeling of those big, detailed mech games to my phone, which is awesome!
‘Duet Night Abyss’ (2025)

‘Duet Night Abyss’ is a thrilling fantasy adventure game where you control two characters. Created by Hero Games, it lets you quickly switch weapons – from guns to swords – during exciting battles. The game features a rich, supernatural world and a smooth movement system with abilities like wall-running and gliding. You can also customize your characters to play the way you like, whether you prefer sniping from a distance or getting up close for a fight. With its dark, immersive setting and fast-paced action, ‘Duet Night Abyss’ has quickly become a popular new release.
‘Tribe Nine’ (2025)

Tribe Nine is a fast-paced action RPG that combines baseball with intense combat, all set in a futuristic Tokyo. Created by Akatsuki Games and Too Kyo Games—with contributions from the team behind ‘Danganronpa’—the game centers around ‘Extreme XB,’ a sport where gangs battle it out on the baseball field. Players build a team by recruiting and training diverse characters, each with their own special skills and quirky personalities. With its striking visuals and unique concept, Tribe Nine offers a new take on both sports and RPG games.
‘Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia’ (2025)

Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia brings back the classic tower defense gameplay the series is known for. Developed by PopCap Games, the new installment includes both familiar plants and zombies, as well as brand new ones. Players will experience the story through episodes as they work to restore Neighborville after a zombie attack. The game is easier to progress through and now includes social features, letting you help friends by sharing resources. It keeps the fun, lighthearted style that made Plants vs. Zombies so popular on mobile devices.
‘Skate Mobile’ (2025)

‘Skate Mobile’ delivers the authentic skateboarding experience of the ‘Skate’ series to your phone or tablet. Created by Full Circle and published by Electronic Arts, this free-to-play game takes place in a brand-new city called San Vansterdam. Players use simple touch controls to perform tricks, just like riding a real skateboard. The game focuses on connecting with others, letting you team up to design skate parks and compete in challenges with the community. It also offers extensive options to customize your skater and board, appealing to skateboarding enthusiasts.
‘Persona 5: The Phantom X’ (2025)

As a huge Persona 5 fan, I was so excited to try ‘Persona 5: The Phantom X’! It’s a mobile game that really nails the look and feel of the original. It’s not a direct port, though – you play with a whole new team of Phantom Thieves in a slightly different version of Tokyo. Basically, you juggle school life with pulling off awesome, risky heists in the Metaverse. The combat is exactly how I remember it – that satisfying ‘One More’ and ‘All-Out Attack’ system is all there! It’s amazing they managed to bring the whole social simulation and dungeon-crawling experience to mobile.
‘Assassin’s Creed Jade’ (2025)

‘Assassin’s Creed Jade’ brings the popular action and stealth gameplay to Ancient China during the Qin Dynasty. Created by Level Infinite and Ubisoft, this is the first open-world ‘Assassin’s Creed’ game built specifically for mobile phones and tablets. Players get to create and customize their own assassin and explore famous places like the Great Wall. The game features the series’ signature parkour moves, stealthy kills, and large battles, offering a vast historical world for players to enjoy.
‘Hollow Knight: Silksong’ (2025)

I’m so excited about ‘Hollow Knight: Silksong’! It’s the sequel to ‘Hollow Knight,’ which I absolutely loved. This time, you play as Hornet, and she’s heading off to explore this gorgeous new kingdom filled with silk and song. What’s really cool is that the mobile version has these super precise touch controls, but you can also use a controller if you prefer. Apparently, there are over 150 new enemies and bosses to fight while you explore all these beautifully hand-drawn areas. It’s amazing that one of the best indie games ever is now available on Android!
‘Monster Hunter Outlanders’ (2025)

Monster Hunter Outlanders is a mobile survival game where you explore a large, open world and hunt huge monsters. Developed by TiMi Studio Group and Capcom, it lets up to four players team up to battle powerful creatures. You’ll need to craft items and manage resources to survive in the challenging wilderness. The game delivers the classic Monster Hunter feel with controls and graphics designed specifically for mobile devices.
