The masked killer Ghostface is returning in Scream 7, terrorizing a new group of victims. Neve Campbell will reprise her role as Sidney Prescott in the next installment of the popular horror series. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on February 27, 2026, and a recently released trailer has fans excited.
The trailer begins with a rapid montage of scenes from previous Scream movies, featuring the iconic voice of Ghostface (Roger L. Jackson) tormenting earlier characters, including Drew Barrymore, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Sidney Prescott.
Thirty years after the original murders, the killer has returned, and this time, Sidney’s daughter, Tatum (Isabel May), is the target. Ghostface appears to have been carefully planning this attack for years, making Tatum a key part of a disturbing game.

Joining Neve Campbell, several actors from past Scream films are back for the new movie. Courteney Cox will again play Gale Weathers, and Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding reprise their roles as the surviving twins, Mindy and Chad Meeks-Martin. The trailer hints that even characters thought to be permanently killed off – Stu Macher (Matthew Lillard) and Roman Bridger (Scott Foley) – will be returning.
David Arquette reprises his role as Dewey Riley, despite his character’s death in the previous Scream film. Joining the cast are Joel McHale as Sidney’s husband Mark, along with Anna Camp, Mckenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Tim Simons, and Mark Consuelos.
This movie is Kevin Williamson’s first time directing a Scream film, though he previously wrote the screenplays for the first, second, and fourth installments. He collaborated with Guy Busick on the script, which was based on a story idea developed by Busick and James Vanderbilt.
The movie went through significant changes behind and in front of the camera. Directors Christopher Landon, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, and Tyler Gillett left the project, and stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega also departed in late 2023, requiring a major overhaul. Neve Campbell confirmed she would return in March 2024, and filming took place between January and March 2025.
In Scream 7, Sidney Prescott is living a peaceful life in Pine Grove, Indiana, with her daughter, Tatum. But their quiet existence is shattered when a new Ghostface emerges, forcing Sidney to relive her traumatic past and protect her daughter from the killer.
Scream 7 is scheduled for release on February 27 and will be available in theaters nationwide.
