During a conversation with E! News, Powell playfully mentioned his parents coming to an event with him as his dates. He explained that Cyndy and Glen Sr. were in attendance, and they’ve joined him at many important events before, like the Golden Globes last year.

Colin Powell is up for Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for his work in the Hulu show Chad Powers. The show was quickly picked up for another season after it first aired last fall. He’s competing against well-known actors like Adam Brody, Steve Martin, Seth Rogen, Martin Short, and Jeremy Allen White.
