Joe Keery, known for his long, dark brown hair as Steve Harrington, dramatically changed his appearance with a bright, bleach-blonde hairstyle. This new look seemed to show he was ready to move on from his time filming in Hawkins, Indiana.
The 33-year-old actor showcased a stylish, indie-rock look with a white blazer and black trousers from Louis Vuitton. His lighter hair color completed the sophisticated outfit, but fans had strong and contrasting reactions to the new style.

Fans on X had mixed reactions to Joe Keery’s new platinum blonde hair – some loved the fresh look, while others missed his natural brown color. Keery didn’t seem to mind the discussion, and confidently presented an award with Charli XCX at the ceremony.
This bold new look appears shortly after the emotional ending of Stranger Things. The show’s fifth and final season finished on Netflix with a three-part release, culminating in the series finale on New Year’s Eve 2025.

Looking back on the past ten years, Keery said the show’s popularity was thanks to the hard work of a huge team – thousands of people in total. He also shared how happy he was with how his character, Steve Harrington, developed, changing from a self-centered teenager into a caring, older-brother figure for the younger actors.
Joe Keery recently told Jimmy Fallon that he especially enjoyed the moment his character decided to do the right thing. He also shared that, even as he takes on new projects, playing Steve will always be a special and memorable part of his career.
Now that his work on the popular show Stranger Things is finished, Joe Keery is starting a variety of new projects. He’ll be back in theaters soon, starring in the sci-fi horror-comedy Cold Storage, which comes out on February 13, 2026.
In the movie Cold Storage, Keery stars as Travis “Teacake” Meacham, a worker at a storage facility who has to join forces with action star Liam Neeson and Georgina Campbell (from Barbarian). They must work together to stop a dangerous, mind-controlling fungus – secretly contained by the government – from spreading after it escapes within the facility.
Joe Keery, known for his acting, is also a musician named Djo, and his music is gaining popularity worldwide. After his song “End of Beginning” went viral, he released his third album, The Crux, in late 2025.
I’m so excited for March 2026! He’s going to be touring South America, playing his own shows in Mexico and hitting up Lollapalooza in Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. Plus, there’s a lot of buzz that Marvel is interested in him for a big part in their new “Mutant Saga” project – a lot of fans are hoping he’ll play Cyclops or Harry Osborn, and honestly, I can totally see him in either role!
Joe Keery is showing the world he’s more than just a recognizable face – and great hair! From fighting monsters on screen to topping the music charts, he’s successfully making the leap from a popular TV series to becoming a major leading actor – a tough feat in Hollywood.
