Recent viewing numbers show people are enjoying a variety of programs, including spy thrillers, funny workplace comedies, and shows focused on interesting characters. Looking ahead to 2026, both established, popular shows and brand new original content are competing for the most viewers. These are currently the most-watched programs available to audiences around the world on the service.
‘Hijack’ (2023– )

Idris Elba plays Sam Nelson, a skilled negotiator who specializes in high-stakes corporate situations. He’s tasked with resolving a hijacking while a flight travels from Dubai to London. The entire story unfolds in real-time, ratcheting up the tension for everyone on board and those working on the ground. As Sam tries to outsmart the hijackers from inside the plane, authorities struggle to figure out exactly what’s happening. The show is known for its fast-paced action and its ability to build suspense, all within the confines of a single location.
‘The Last Frontier’ (2025– )

This thrilling drama follows US Marshal Frank Remnick, played by Jason Clarke, as he works in the wild and unforgiving Alaskan wilderness. When a plane carrying prisoners crashes in a remote location, Remnick is tasked with finding the escaped convicts in the brutal cold. As he tries to keep his community safe, he begins to suspect the crash wasn’t just an accident, uncovering a deeper conspiracy. The show really highlights the challenges of surviving in Alaska’s harsh environment, making the landscape feel like a character itself.
‘Slow Horses’ (2022– )

This series, adapted from Mick Herron’s ‘Slough House’ novels, centers around a team of MI5 agents who’ve been relegated to a dead-end department after making career-damaging mistakes. Gary Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, their cynical and unkempt boss, who has little respect for his team. Despite being considered failures – nicknamed ‘slow horses’ – they often end up tackling dangerous missions that other intelligence agencies avoid. The show is known for its sharp, dark humor and realistic take on the world of espionage.
‘Severance’ (2022– )

This psychological thriller revolves around Lumon Industries, a company that separates employees’ work and personal memories using a medical procedure. Adam Scott stars as Mark Scout, who starts to uncover a disturbing truth about what the company is really up to. As employees’ work selves (“innies”) and outside selves (“outies”) find ways to connect, the company’s power structure begins to fall apart. The show has been praised for its unique visual style and its thought-provoking look at work-life balance in a dark, futuristic setting.
‘Shrinking’ (2023– )

The show centers around Jimmy Laird, a therapist dealing with intense sadness after losing his wife. He shakes things up by abandoning traditional therapy and starts being brutally honest with his patients, even if it means breaking the rules. While this unconventional approach helps some of them make progress, it also creates problems with his coworkers, including a more experienced therapist portrayed by Harrison Ford. The series is a funny and moving exploration of recovery and the importance of human connection.
‘The Morning Show’ (2019– )

This drama, starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, takes place in the fast-paced world of television news. It follows two journalists as they deal with a changing industry, workplace issues, and the intense scrutiny that comes with being in the public eye today. The show centers on their battles for influence at a fictional news network, alongside their personal lives and difficult ethical choices. It’s become a signature series for the streaming platform, often tackling important social issues and exploring the complexities of modern media.
‘Ted Lasso’ (2020–2023)

Ted Lasso is a heartwarming comedy about an American football coach who unexpectedly takes charge of an English soccer team, even though he knows nothing about the sport. Played by Jason Sudeikis, Ted’s unwavering optimism and unusual coaching methods gradually change the team’s atmosphere and the lives of everyone involved. Over three seasons, the show explores the personal journeys of its characters and highlights the importance of mental well-being and good sportsmanship. It became a popular and award-winning series, known for its positive message and challenge to traditional ideas about what it means to be a man.
‘Palm Royale’ (2024– )

This series takes place in the glamorous world of Palm Beach in 1969. It stars Kristen Wiig as Maxine Simmons, a woman who is determined to get into the city’s most prestigious club. The story follows Maxine’s increasingly frantic efforts to climb the social ladder and fit in with the wealthy upper class who control Palm Beach. The show playfully critiques the class differences and fashion trends of the late 1960s, and features strong performances from a cast including Laura Dern and Allison Janney. It’s known for its bright and colorful look.
‘Tehran’ (2020– )

I recently watched this incredible series about Tamar Rabinyan, a Mossad agent who’s also a seriously skilled hacker. The story follows her as she goes undercover in Tehran with the dangerous task of shutting down a nuclear reactor. Things don’t go as planned, and suddenly she’s on the run, trying to survive in the city while being hunted by Iranian security. What really grabbed me was how the show mixed this intense personal story of her struggle for identity and survival with the bigger picture of all the political tension in the region. And later on, Glenn Close joined the cast, which just added another layer of intrigue to all the secret operations and high-stakes diplomatic maneuvering. It’s a really gripping watch!
‘Pluribus’ (2025– )

This political drama, set in the near future, examines the tension between constant technological monitoring and personal freedoms. The story centers on activists and lawmakers fighting to protect their democracy as automated systems gain more control. As loyalties change and the country becomes unstable, the characters grapple with the question of how much privacy they’ll sacrifice for safety. The show has connected with viewers because it tackles important issues about technology, ethics, and how our political systems are changing.
