Britney Spears has stated she won’t be performing concerts in the U.S. anymore. In a detailed Instagram post on Thursday, the singer explained the choice is due to very personal and delicate issues.
The singer recently posted an old photo of herself playing the piano and opened up about her life experiences. In a candid message, she explained, “I actually dance on Instagram to work through personal and physical pain that others don’t know about. It can be a little embarrassing, but I overcame a lot to get where I am today.”
Britney Spears has said she doesn’t plan to perform in the U.S., but she suggested she might tour internationally. In a recent post, she shared her hope to perform in the UK and Australia, imagining herself on stage with her son, a red rose in her hair. She also expressed how proud she is of him, calling him a star and saying she feels honored to be his mother. It wasn’t clear which of her two sons, Sean Preston or Jayden, she was referring to.

Britney Spears last performed in the United States in October 2018, finishing her “Piece of Me” tour in Austin, Texas. She intended to start a new show in Las Vegas called “Domination” in 2019, but she put those plans on hold and stopped performing because of personal family issues. She explained on Instagram that she needed to prioritize her family, and that’s why she made the difficult decision to cancel the show.
This announcement shows that Britney Spears is prioritizing her family and personal life, but hasn’t ruled out performing internationally in the future.
It’s great to see artists like Britney Spears focusing on their health instead of constantly touring. While her U.S. fans might be sad about the lack of shows here, her possible performances abroad could be a fantastic experience for international fans.
