As a big fan, I always look forward to the Golden Globes – it’s such a glamorous night where all my favorite actors and actresses get dressed up and are honored for their work. It’s a huge event, and this year, I’m really bummed to hear that Cynthia Erivo won’t be there. She’s incredibly talented – a phenomenal actress and singer with amazing style! But she’s actually busy preparing for a really exciting project: she’s going to play Dracula and 22 other characters all by herself in a new play in London’s West End. That’s a massive undertaking, and honestly, I admire her dedication to her craft, even if it means missing the Globes.
Cynthia Erivo’s portrayal of a classic horror character will be unveiled on February 4th. However, due to filming Wicked: For Good in London, she won’t be able to travel to Los Angeles for the Golden Globes, where she’s nominated for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her performance as Elphaba.
Given how well-received the film has been by both audiences and critics, it’s likely she’ll win an award. She might even have a thank-you speech prepared in advance. But honestly, missing the event to perform in a play – playing Dracula and 22 other roles, no less – is pretty amazing!
