‘Evil Influencer: The Jodi Hildebrandt Story’ Is on Top of Netflix’s Most-Watched Movies of the Week List

As a total movie buff, I’ve been watching what everyone’s streaming lately, and it’s a big shift from how we used to watch things. Looking at Netflix’s numbers from the end of December 2025 into early January 2026, it’s clear people are turning to streaming for everything – the newest blockbusters and old favorites alike. The top ten list is all over the place, which is cool – everything from big sequels to those super-addictive true crime shows. Basically, these are the movies everyone across the country is glued to right now.

‘Priscilla’ (2023)

Sofia Coppola’s film, ‘Priscilla,’ is a biographical drama telling the story of Priscilla Presley and her complicated relationship with Elvis. Adapted from her memoir, ‘Elvis and Me,’ the movie shows things from Priscilla’s point of view, starting when they met in Germany and continuing through their life together at Graceland. Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi star as Priscilla and Elvis, and the film delves into the challenges of fame and the feeling of being alone. It offers a personal glimpse into the lives of one of America’s most iconic couples.

‘Pitch Perfect 2’ (2015)

This funny musical sequel, directed by Elizabeth Banks, brings back the Barden Bellas. After a mishap puts their reputation at risk, the group tries to make history by competing in an international a cappella contest – one no American team has ever won. Starring Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and Hailee Steinfeld, the movie follows the Bellas as they navigate life after college and the power of their friendship.

‘The Girl Who Got Away’ (2021)

This suspenseful thriller centers around a female serial killer who breaks out of prison after two decades. Her escape reignites fear in the small town where she once committed her crimes, and she immediately focuses on the one person who managed to survive her attacks. The story explores the lingering trauma of the past as the town desperately tries to protect itself from a renewed outbreak of violence. Kaye Tuckerman and Lexi Johnson star in this tale of survival and a history that refuses to stay buried.

‘Ford v Ferrari’ (2019)

This movie, set in the 1960s, tells the real story of Carroll Shelby, a car designer, and Ken Miles, a race car driver. Ford hires them with a big challenge: to create a groundbreaking race car that can beat Ferrari at the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race. The film shows the difficulties they faced with engineering and the obstacles put in their way by the company as they built the Ford GT40. It received several Academy Award nominations, recognizing both its technical brilliance and the actors’ performances.

‘Man on Fire’ (2004)

Denzel Washington plays John Creasy, a retired CIA agent who takes a job protecting a young girl in Mexico City. When she’s kidnapped, he begins a determined and violent quest to find those responsible. Directed by Tony Scott, the film is known for its fast-paced action and strong emotional impact. Dakota Fanning plays the girl he’s protecting, and their connection fuels his dangerous pursuit.

‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’ (2025)

Okay, so I just saw the newest Benoit Blanc mystery, and let me tell you, Rian Johnson has done it again. This third film throws us right into another incredibly clever puzzle, and the cast is absolutely phenomenal – seriously, everyone is on top of their game. It’s a classic ‘whodunnit’ at its heart, but Johnson smartly weaves in some really interesting observations about the world today. Like the previous movies, it’s all about the characters and their tangled relationships, and just when you think you’ve figured things out, another twist comes along. It’s a really engaging and fun ride.

‘KPop Demon Hunters’ (2025)

I’m so excited about this new movie! It’s about the members of a super popular K-Pop group, but they have this incredible secret life – they’re monster hunters! Can you imagine juggling world tours and rehearsals and saving the world? The movie looks amazing, with really dynamic music performances and awesome action scenes. It’s a cool story about how they balance being famous performers with the huge responsibility of protecting us all from supernatural dangers.

‘Wrath of Man’ (2021)

This fast-paced heist movie, directed by Guy Ritchie, follows a new, enigmatic security guard for an armored truck company. Called only ‘H,’ he quickly proves incredibly skilled at handling a robbery, leading everyone to wonder what he’s really after. The story unfolds in a non-traditional way, jumping between different points in time to reveal H’s past and a heartbreaking event that shaped him. Jason Statham stars as the focused and determined protagonist, driven by a desire for revenge.

‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ (2018)

This animated film introduces Miles Morales as the new Spider-Man, and it takes the idea of multiple universes to the next level. Miles teams up with Spider-People from different dimensions to save reality from a huge danger. The movie stands out with its cool, comic book-inspired visuals and a fresh, modern style. It was even recognized as the best animated film of the year with an Academy Award, thanks to its creative story and well-developed characters.

‘Evil Influencer: The Jodi Hildebrandt Story’ (2025)

This drama tells the story of a popular social media figure and life coach whose life unravelled in a legal scandal. It reveals the abuse that took place within her family and how it affected both her children and the people who followed her online. The film follows the police investigation and the highly publicized court case that gripped the nation. Ultimately, it’s a warning about the dangers of unchecked power and the negative side of online influence.
