Everstone Studio revealed what’s new in the 1.2 update for Where Winds Meet, and shared their plans for future updates coming in January 2026.

Where Winds Meet is a popular, free-to-play action role-playing game set in an open world inspired by Chinese martial arts. It quickly gained a large player base, reaching 9 million players in just two weeks. The developers plan to continue adding new content, with more updates scheduled for early 2026.

Where Winds Meet Update 1.2 Will Introduce the Final Volume of Kaifeng, along with New Regions and More

The next major update for Where Winds Meet, version 1.2, is coming out on January 9, 2026. This update completes the Kaifeng storyline and introduces Supreme Freedom, a challenging boss players will face. It also adds a new area called Nine Mortal Ways Camp, found beneath Kaifeng in the Ghost Market, and a puzzle-filled cave called Mistveil Prison.

The update introduces Guild Battles: Preseason Tournament, a large-scale multiplayer mode where guilds will compete in six challenging matches to test their teamwork and strategy. Also coming on January 9th is the First Jianghu Martial Games, a limited-time festival with fun, unique game modes like ‘Elder Express’ and ‘Towering Master’.

  • January 8 – World Boss: Nameless General
  • January 8 – Event: Jianghu Martial Games
  • January 15 – Puzzle Cave: Mistveil Prison
  • January 16 – Event: Guild Battle Preseason
  • January 22 – Region: Nine Mortal Ways Base
  • January 25 – Story: Whispers Beneath the Moon
  • January 29 – Event: Year of Abundance
  • January 29 – Event: Season-End Dash
