‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ (1981)

The classic adventure film ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark,’ featuring the archaeologist Indiana Jones, began streaming on January 1st. The movie follows Indy’s globe-trotting quest to find the Ark of the Covenant before his enemies do. It’s known for setting the standard for modern action and adventure movies with its exciting practical effects and memorable music, and it launched a hugely popular series that people still enjoy today.
‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’ (1989)

In ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade,’ Indiana Jones sets out on a dangerous adventure to rescue his father and locate the Holy Grail. Their search leads them across exotic locations like Venice and the Middle Eastern deserts, all while facing a ticking clock. This beloved film, along with earlier Indiana Jones movies, became available on January 1st and continues to be popular for its exciting action and witty humor.
‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ (2008)

In 1957, during the Cold War, Indiana Jones gets caught up in a Soviet scheme to find the secrets of strange skulls. He reconnects with his old flame, Marion Ravenwood, and joins forces with a headstrong young man named Mutt Williams. ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ follows their dangerous adventure through the jungles of South America. The film was added to our library on January 1st, finishing the complete Indiana Jones collection for our subscribers.
‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’ (1984)

As a huge Indiana Jones fan, ‘Temple of Doom’ is one of my favorites! It takes us back to Indy’s earlier adventures in India, where he’s trying to get back a stolen sacred stone for a small village. He teams up with a fantastic singer and a resourceful young boy, and together they stumble upon a creepy cult hiding under an old palace. The movie is packed with action, and honestly, the mine cart chase is just iconic! It was great to revisit it when the franchise launched on streaming earlier this year.
‘The Big Year’ (2011)

‘The Big Year’ is a funny and heartwarming movie about three rivals who compete to see who can spot the most bird species in North America within a year. The film follows their adventures and the obstacles they face as they travel the continent, and it became available on January 2nd as a feel-good option for weekend viewing. It boasts a talented cast who bring humor to the surprisingly competitive world of birdwatching.
‘Cheetahs Up Close With Bertie Gregory’ (2026)

Bertie Gregory’s documentary, ‘Cheetahs Up Close With Bertie Gregory,’ premiered on January 2nd, offering a close-up look at the lives of cheetahs in the wild. The film highlights their incredible hunting skills and how mothers care for their cubs. Viewers will witness the difficulties these predators face while living on the African savanna. Using cutting-edge filming techniques, the series also provides a fresh take on protecting wildlife.
‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’ (2016)

A young boy stumbles upon a secret haven for children with special powers, a place trapped in a repeating time loop. As he discovers his own abilities, he joins them in defending against dangerous creatures. ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children,’ based on a beloved book for young adults, began streaming on January 2nd and provides an enchanting adventure for everyone.
‘Home Alone’ (1990)

As a total movie buff, I have to say ‘Home Alone’ is still a classic! The story is just so fun – a little boy gets mistakenly left behind when his family goes to Paris for the holidays, and he ends up having to protect his house from a couple of burglars. He does it with all these incredibly clever, homemade traps, which is hilarious! It’s currently the most-watched movie on the platform, and honestly, it’s easy to see why. It’s one of the most successful live-action comedies ever made, and it really hits that sweet spot with its slapstick humor and surprisingly heartwarming story.
‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York’ (1992)

In ‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,’ Kevin McCallister gets separated from his family during a vacation and finds himself alone in New York City. He ends up staying at a fancy hotel and unexpectedly runs into the same two burglars he outsmarted in the first movie. This week, the film is a popular choice for viewers. The sequel takes things to the next level with bigger and more complicated traps, this time set in a huge toy store and a remodeled house.
‘Zootopia’ (2016)

In the animated film ‘Zootopia,’ a determined rabbit police officer and a sly fox are forced to work together when a resident mysteriously vanishes. Their investigation leads them to a larger conspiracy that could disrupt the harmony between all the different animals living in the city. The movie is currently very popular and has been praised for its detailed world and thoughtful exploration of important social issues.
