Tyr for PVE

Tyr is incredibly powerful, dealing massive damage – among the highest in the game.

Damage analysis

Tyr’s Starlight Guardian ability is a powerful attack that costs 4 SP and deals a massive 1,400% damage – one of the highest single-hit damage values in the game. However, using it applies a debuff to Tyr herself, increasing the SP cost of all her skills by 2 for the next 6 turns.

Usually, making skills cost more SP would be a negative thing. But the new Innocent Bunny Tyr ability actually turns this into an advantage. It boosts damage based on how much SP a skill uses.

Innocent Bunny adds a penalty that makes skills cost more SP, and this effect can combine with the same penalty from Starlight Guardian, increasing the total cost even further.

Okay, so I’ve been crunching the numbers on my Innocent Bunny Tyr, and after maxing out the potential to +5, it’s dealing up to 1,740% damage! Here’s how that breaks down…

Turn order SP spent Innocent Bunny damage
Attack with Innocent Bunny first
(no SP Cost Increase Debuffs applied)
4 1,020%
Starlight Guardian > Innocent Bunny
(SP cost increased by 2)
6 1,380%
Bunny > Starlight > normal attack > Bunny
(SP cost increased by 4)
8 1,740%

Tyr is a really strong attacker in the game. He can consistently deal a ton of damage each turn without needing a lot of preparation.

While New Hire Nebris can ultimately deal more damage than Nebris, it takes a few turns to get going and its ability recharges only every three turns. Tyr, on the other hand, consistently deals significant damage each turn, with only a brief recharge period every seven turns.

Game modes

Tyr deals a lot of damage, making her a strong choice for all player-versus-environment content, like fiend hunts, guild raids, and the Wind Tower of Pride.

Her main weakness is how much Special Points (SP) her skills use. Spending 6 to 8 SP each turn can be a real problem, particularly during boss battles where SP recovery is slow. Plus, while abilities that lower SP costs might seem helpful, they actually aren’t great with her, as they also decrease her damage output. She also doesn’t build up attack chains effectively with those types of abilities.

To get the most out of Tyr, you’ll generally want to build a team that can quickly replenish her SP. Dark Saintess Liberta and Angel of Destruction Teresse work well for this purpose.

Tyr for PVP

Tyr isn’t a great choice for player-versus-player (PVP) in Mirror Wars. Her skills use a lot of SP, and her unique ability actually increases that cost even further. While she can hit all enemies with a single attack, other characters like Nebris, Schera, and Elise can do the same thing for a much lower SP cost – and in Schera’s case, also remove helpful buffs from the enemy team.

Tyr is a solid choice in Golden Colosseum for smaller maps, but probably won’t be one of the very best champions. Other options can deal more damage over a wider area. A key weakness is that she only attacks once per turn, making her vulnerable to the Power of Agility blessing, which gives enemies a chance to dodge the first attack.

Conclusion

Tyr’s theme is dealing a lot of damage, but at a very high SP cost.

Innocent Bunny Tyr isn’t recommended for beginners. New players often have limited SP, and many early costumes are expensive to use. Tyr’s ongoing SP cost can be hard to manage when you’re just starting out.

For experienced players tackling the toughest challenges, Tyr is a top choice for wind-based teams, right up there with Nebris. They both bring something different to the table: Tyr consistently deals a lot of damage but is expensive to use, while Nebris can unleash a massive burst of damage with a lower cost, though it requires more preparation.

Tyr is not limited.
