I was really surprised to hear that Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers are being asked to move out of their house in Calabasas. Apparently, they’ve fallen behind on the rent for a while now, and it’s gotten to the point where they have to leave. It’s a tough situation, and I feel for them both.
The eviction follows a court decision made last Friday, December 26th. A Los Angeles judge ruled in favor of the landlord, John Karan. Richards and Phypers had been renting the large home – which has six bedrooms and five bathrooms and covers almost 7,000 square feet – since 2020, paying $12,000 each month.
The judge ruled that Karan can take back possession of the property because the previous tenant broke the lease by not paying rent. While Karan originally asked for $84,000 in unpaid rent, the court still needs to decide on the total amount of money he will receive.
Us Weekly reports that Karan sued the couple on November 7th, alleging they hadn’t paid their rent for several months.
In late 2023, Richards left the family home in Calabasas and began renting townhouses. Phypers continued living there with his family – his parents and brother.
So, I’m hearing that Jamie Richards is claiming his ex, Brittany Phypers, caused damage to their house after she moved out. But people close to him are saying that’s just not true – they actually say he’s made improvements to the place since she left. It’s a classic ‘he said, she said’ situation, honestly.
Just after asking his estranged wife for financial support – claiming he needs over $100,000 a month to cover his costs – Phypers is facing eviction. Court documents suggest his monthly expenses include $15,000 for rent, $1,500 for healthcare, $4,800 for groceries, $2,000 for dining out, and $3,200 for housekeeping, among other things.
Phypers reported owing around $850,000, including $180,000 to his landlord and $120,000 in unpaid rent for a previous office. He is asking the court to require Richards, who allegedly earns more than $250,000 monthly through OnlyFans, appearances, and TV work, to financially support him.
Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky began dating in 2017 and married in Malibu in September 2018. In 2019, Umansky legally adopted Richards’ youngest daughter, Eloise. They recently separated in July, and Umansky filed for divorce, stating they had differences that couldn’t be resolved.
Richards has been dealing with difficult personal issues recently. In July, she sought a temporary restraining order against her partner, Phypers, claiming repeated abuse. This included physical attacks, choking, concussions, threats to her life, and unwanted monitoring of her online activity. A five-year restraining order was later granted in November. Phypers denies these accusations.
Denise Richards has been expanding her career beyond acting. In 2022, she joined OnlyFans to financially support her daughter, Sami. She praised the platform, saying it combines the best features of other social media sites and gives creators full control over their content. Reports suggest she’s earned a substantial income from OnlyFans, and her friend, Tori Spelling, has even admitted to spending over $400 on her content.
This eviction is another sign of the continuing legal battles and personal conflicts between the ex-couple. Richards seems to be focusing on her career and safeguarding her family as she moves on.
