Okay, so I just saw a new video from Reece Reilly, a YouTuber who usually gets pretty reliable info about games, and he says Bethesda and Xbox are aiming to release the next big RPG – the one that follows Oblivion and Skyrim – around 2028! But that’s not all he said… there’s more to the story.
The Elder Scrolls 6 Delayed?
Bethesda’s Todd Reilly has indicated that The Elder Scrolls 6 is currently slated for release in 2028, but 2029 is also a likely possibility. Considering the new PlayStation 6 and Xbox are expected to launch in 2028, the game will probably be playable on both current and next-generation consoles. While a next-gen only release isn’t impossible, the current timeframe makes that scenario less probable.
According to an insider, don’t expect Elder Scrolls 6 until at least 2028, with 2029 being a more likely release year. They’re hesitant to give even a tentative date because announcing the game too early could backfire. The insider believes the game risks a similar reception to Metroid Prime 4 – it will likely sell well, but might not receive high praise from critics and could be a divisive title.
Keep in mind that this information isn’t official and could change. Game development is a fluid process, and delays are typical for large projects like this, so don’t treat this as a definitive statement.
