Joe Budden Says “Don’t Call Me, Don’t Text Me” as He Cuts Off Nicki Minaj After AmFest Appearance

Joe Budden and Nicki Minaj have ended their public relationship following Minaj’s unexpected appearance at the America Fest 2025, a Turning Point USA event. The split occurred after Minaj participated in a live discussion at the politically and culturally focused event on December 21st.

Nicki Minaj recently spoke with Erika Kirk, the current leader of Turning Point USA. They talked about several topics, including Donald Trump, JD Vance, Gavin Newsom, and both religion and Christianity. Erika Kirk took over as CEO after the passing of her husband, Charlie Kirk, who helped found the organization.

Joe Budden discussed the issue on his podcast on December 24, 2025, explaining that Nicki Minaj’s involvement with the event had changed his opinion of her. He stated it was the last thing he needed to see to end their relationship.

Budden announced on his podcast that he was finished with his involvement after Nicki Minaj appeared with Turning Point USA. He said he’d received numerous calls about the situation and was completely stepping away, stating, “I’m done. That was it.” He ended by saying he didn’t want to be contacted anymore and accepted the outcome as final.

He went on to explain that public choices matter and affect how people are viewed.

He explained that someone’s actions influence his opinion of them, and this situation was a clear example. He believes she carefully planned everything, which leads him to think she isn’t concerned with his feelings.

Joe Budden, a former rapper and current podcaster, has announced he’s cutting all professional ties with Nicki Minaj. This decision follows Minaj appearing on stage with Erika Kirk, the wife of Charlie Kirk, at an event hosted by Turning Point USA, where she voiced support for Christians.

Budden also expressed disappointment with comments Nicki Minaj reportedly made during the event, stating they didn’t align with what her fans believe in. He felt the whole appearance was damaging to Black culture and didn’t hold back in saying so.

During AmFest 2025, Nicki Minaj publicly criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom. She was asked to read some recent posts from her X account, which she had shared in response to Newsom’s earlier statements of support for transgender children.

In a social media post, Minaj explained that she pictured herself as someone who simply wants what’s best for children, stating, ‘Normal adults wake up and want healthy, safe, happy kids,’ and that’s what she wants for transgender children as well.

Minaj also criticized California Governor Newsom, derisively calling him “Newscum,” and suggested young men look up to Donald Trump and JD Vance. She mistakenly called Vance an “assassin” during this, which was an unfortunate choice of words considering Erika Kirk’s husband was recently assassinated.

Nicki Minaj mistakenly referred to J.D. Vance as an ‘assassin’ while praising him and the president as role models, quickly realizing her error.

Erika Kirk brushed it off, responding with a laugh and saying, “Words are words. I know her heart.”

During the discussion, Minaj also responded to criticism of her political opinions. She said she hadn’t paid much attention to it and playfully called herself and the audience “the cool kids.” She then talked about how the media portrays young girls, arguing that all girls deserve equal attention, not just a select few.

Nicki Minaj stated she wants all girls to feel confident and embrace their individuality, and she doesn’t want to see anyone hurt.

The incident has caused a lot of discussion online, as people have strong opinions about both Nicki Minaj’s actions and Joe Budden’s reaction. It’s a good example of how a celebrity’s political stance can quickly change how people see them and their relationships with others.
