The new Avengers movie, titled Doomsday, is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. A year before its release, the studio released a first look at the film, featuring Chris Evans returning as Captain America.
Avengers: Doomsday Teaser: Chris Evans officially makes a comeback
Marvel fans are excited about the first teaser trailer for the new Avengers movie, ‘Doomsday.’ The trailer shows Chris Evans reprising his famous role as Captain America, Steve Rogers.
Okay, so the first glimpse we get is really powerful. It starts with Steve Rogers, just riding his motorcycle home – a surprisingly normal moment! Then, you see him pull out his Captain America suit, and honestly, it’s all about that feeling of looking back on an incredible journey. It’s super nostalgic and really sets the stage for what’s to come, with a beautiful piano version of the Avengers theme playing as he reflects.
The preview then features him lovingly holding a newborn baby, looking at the child with obvious pride. It ends with a message announcing, “Steve Rogers will return in Avengers: Doomsday.”
It’s worth noting that in one Marvel Comics universe (Earth-8342), Steve Rogers has two children, Steve Rogers Jr. and Nicky Rogers. This raises the question of whether the Marvel Cinematic Universe might explore adding more characters with super powers who are children of established heroes.
Watch the teaser here:
Chris Evans previously played Captain America in the movie Avengers: Endgame. At the end of the film, his character, Steve Rogers, had to take the Infinity Stones back to where they came from to fix the timeline and restore order.
After finishing his mission, Steve didn’t come back to the present. He chose to stay in the past and live out his life with Peggy Carter. The movie ends with Steve as an old man, passing the role of Captain America on to Sam Wilson.
Now that Chris Evans is back, it’ll be fascinating to see what direction the Marvel Cinematic Universe takes next.
