Chainsaw Man is officially moving forward with its next major storyline.
At Jump Festa 2026, MAPPA revealed the next installment of Chainsaw Man, titled Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc, and shared a first look with a new trailer, letting fans know Denji’s story will continue.

International Assassins Arc confirmed
As a fan, I was really excited to see MAPPA back at the helm for the next chapter of Chainsaw Man. This installment, ‘The Assassins Arc,’ dives into the sixth arc of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s original manga. Considering how well the first season and the recent Reze Arc movie were received, expectations are definitely high, and I’m eager to see how they bring this story to life.
This part of the story dramatically increases the danger, introducing assassins from all over the world who are after Denji. It turns Chainsaw Man into the focal point of a huge, worldwide battle for survival.
Chainsaw Man anime continues after financial success
Chainsaw Man’s first season, which consisted of 12 episodes, aired last fall. According to MAPPA CEO Manabu Otsuka, the anime was a significant financial success.
As a total animation fan, what really grabbed me about this series was how it looked and sounded. The animation was seriously cinematic – like watching a movie! And the music was fantastic. Kenshi Yonezu did the opening theme, “KICK BACK,” which is a banger, but what was really cool was that each episode had a totally different ending theme, and a different artist did each one. It kept things fresh and exciting!
Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc became available digitally earlier this month, after playing in theaters. This continues the film’s successful release.
Manga background and publication details
Tatsuki Fujimoto started the manga series Chainsaw Man in 2018. The first part of the story concluded in 2020 after 97 chapters, which were compiled into 11 volumes. The second part began publishing in July 2022.
