Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter, North West, who is 12 years old, has launched her own Instagram account. She posted for the first time on Saturday, December 20th, and immediately gained a lot of attention, reaching over 400,000 followers in just a few hours.
For her first post, North West copied a famous pose of her mom, Kim Kardashian. The picture, a little blurry, shows North giving two peace signs in a room decorated with Christmas lights. She was wearing a Balenciaga T-shirt, a mini skirt, and boots, with her hair pulled back in a neat bun. She simply captioned the photo, “First post.”
North West’s Instagram account is run by her parents, according to her profile. Kim Kardashian, age 45, and her grandmother, Kris Jenner, were among the first to follow the account. Currently, North isn’t following any other users.
A second post and a growing fan base
The following day, Sunday, December 21st, North posted another picture on Instagram. It showed her playfully covering her face with her hands, with bits of vibrant blue hair visible under a big, fluffy hat.
North is the oldest of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s four children. Kim and Kanye separated in 2021 and officially divorced in 2022. Their other children are Saint, who is 10, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6.
North West is now on Instagram, but she’s no stranger to social media. She already has a well-known TikTok account with her mom, Kim Kardashian, where she often shares fun videos of dancing, Kim, her siblings, and their friends.

North West has recently been getting attention for trying out different looks with her style and makeup. Last October, she and her friends were spotted with temporary body modifications like fake tattoos on their faces, a pretend nose piercing, and decorative grillz for their teeth.
Kim Kardashian addressed backlash regarding a piercing on her middle finger on December 9th. She posted a TikTok video lip-syncing to a sound clip saying, “Why are you crying? How old are you? Just pull it together,” with text overlaying the video that read, “This is for anyone upset about a finger piercing.”
