Idris Elba was stunned by how lifelike his new wax figure at Madame Tussauds London was – it was so realistic, it even tricked his phone’s facial recognition! The incredibly detailed figure was revealed on December 19th and is a perfect replica of the actor.

Idris Elba, known for his roles in Luther and The Wire, was amazed when the museum’s wax figure of him briefly fooled his phone’s Face ID. In a video shared by the museum, Elba laughed and said, “Haha, look at this guy!” He added, clearly impressed, “I don’t know what to say, I’m speechless.”

Idris Elba even used the wax figure of himself to unlock his phone, and incredibly, it worked! He even called his mother, Eve Elba, to show her, and she was completely stunned, shouting, “Oh my god!” when she saw it.

Idris Elba was amazed when the facial recognition on his Samsung phone was fooled by his wax figure! He then playfully called his mom as a prank, which was quite a moment.

A lifelike wax figure of Idris Elba has been unveiled, depicting the stylish suit he wore when he met King Charles. The museum creators focused on capturing every nuance of the actor’s appearance. Elba expressed his gratitude, saying, “It’s a real honor to be recognized like this, and it’s especially meaningful to have a wax version of myself standing in London. It’s a way for a part of me to always be home, even when I’m traveling.”

He described the experience as similar to preparing for a movie role. “It’s been really interesting,” he explained. “It’s a lot like developing a character for a film – collaborating with skilled people to refine the details and get everything just right, except this time, it’s all about me.”
