Following the successful run of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc in cinemas globally, the anime is continuing its story with the Assassins Arc, which is based on the original manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The announcement was made live at Jump Festa and then shared on the official Chainsaw Man X (formerly Twitter) account.

When the project was announced, no information was shared about when it would be released. It’s also unclear if the Assassins Arc will be a TV show, a movie, or something else entirely. Details about who will be working on it and who will star haven’t been confirmed yet.
The new Chainsaw Man movie, focusing on the Reze Arc, was directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara at MAPPA studio. Masato Nakazono was the assistant director, and Hiroshi Seko wrote the screenplay. Kazutaka Sugiyama designed the characters, and Kensuke Ushio created the music. For comparison, Ryu Nakayama directed the original Chainsaw Man anime series, which aired from October to December 2022.

Here’s a quick rundown of the story: a young man struggling with debt is betrayed and killed, but makes a deal with a companion named Pochita.
