Patrick Warburton is known for having one of the most recognizable voices in Hollywood. While he’s had a great career in traditional acting, he’s probably best known for his voice work in shows like Family Guy, Venture Brothers, and recently, Zootopia 2. Many fans especially love his performance as Kronk Pepikrankenitz, the lovable strongman from Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove. To mark the film’s 25th anniversary, Warburton brought his three sons to Walt Disney Studios to see if they could imitate Kronk’s iconic lines in a recording booth. It’s amazing how much Patrick Warburton’s sons – Talon, Gabriel, and Shane – sound like him; clearly, strong genes run in the family. Gabriel’s voice is perhaps the most different, but he still manages to capture some of his dad’s style. If Disney ever needs to replace the safety video for the Soarin’ ride, which Patrick Warburton narrates, Talon would be a great substitute. And speaking of Disney, even when his voice is altered by robotic effects for his character in Star Tours, you can still instantly recognize Patrick Warburton’s unique way of speaking.
Disney created this fun video featuring the Warburtons to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Emperor’s New Groove. The animated film had a difficult production and wasn’t initially successful in theaters when it was released in 2000. However, like Hocus Pocus, repeated showings on television helped it become a beloved classic for many. It’s great to see Disney recognizing the film’s anniversary, even if it’s with a lighthearted video like this one.
