New Look: Marvel Releases Thrilling New Clip for ‘Wonder Man’ Series

Marvel Studios just shared a sneak peek at its new Disney+ show, Wonder Man, giving fans their first glimpse of the next story in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, the show centers on Simon Williams, an actor who’s having a hard time catching a break and is auditioning for the main part in a new Wonder Man movie within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays Simon Williams, a character who will develop superpowers like super strength, enhanced speed, and the ability to generate huge explosions. According to showrunner Andrew Guest, Simon is “incredibly powerful, even more than he realizes.” Marvel executive Brian Gay adds that Simon “doesn’t fully understand the scope of his abilities, but he’s primarily focused on becoming a successful actor.”

Ben Kingsley is back as Trevor Slattery, the actor who famously portrayed the Mandarin but is now attempting to revive his career. He develops a complex relationship with Simon, seeing him both as a friend and an opportunity. Brad Winderbaum, an executive producer, has described Slattery’s journey as genuine and heartfelt, rather than manipulative.

According to Kingsley, Slattery is at a crossroads, forced to choose between pursuing his goals and dealing with significant personal consequences. This series also wraps up his character arc, continuing the story that began with his roles in Iron Man 3 (2013) and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021).

The film features Arian Moayed as P. Cleary, an agent from the Department of Damage Control, along with X Mayo and Zlatko Burić as director Von Kovak. Olivia Thirlby and Byron Bowers, playing DeMarr Davis (also known as Doorman), also star. Demetrius Grosse, Ed Harris, and Josh Gad appear in important roles, and Simon’s family, including his mother Martha Williams, are also part of the narrative.

A new clip gives fans a first look at the upcoming series, featuring Simon as he explores Hollywood and learns about the boundaries of his abilities. The show combines superhero action with humor, offering a fresh experience for Marvel fans.
