Disney+ remains the top streaming service, offering both beloved animated movies and sneak peeks at upcoming blockbusters. This weekend, you’ll find a mix of holiday favorites and exclusive content from the Marvel and Avatar universes. Families are enjoying classic seasonal films, while fans are checking out the newest episodes and previews. These are currently the most popular and talked-about titles on the platform.
‘Zootopia’ (2016)

Judy Hopps, a determined rabbit, makes history as the first of her species to become a police officer in a bustling city populated by animals. She partners with Nick Wilde, a sly fox, to investigate the disappearance of several predators and uncover a hidden conspiracy. The movie cleverly explores important social issues within an exciting, fast-moving mystery that families can enjoy together. With a new sequel on the way, the film is gaining renewed popularity.
‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ (2022)

When humans return to Pandora, Jake Sully and Neytiri are forced to leave their forest home and seek shelter with the Metkayina, a clan who live in the ocean. The new movie features stunning underwater worlds and focuses on the challenges faced by the Sully family as they try to protect each other. Cutting-edge technology creates incredibly realistic scenes of Pandora’s underwater life and its unique creatures. This big-budget film is a must-see for fans of science fiction and visually impressive storytelling.
‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ (2000)

The Grinch, a solitary creature living on Mount Crumpit, schemes to spoil the holidays for the cheerful people of Whoville. However, a heartwarming encounter with a sweet girl named Cindy Lou Who helps him discover the real spirit of the season. This live-action movie, based on the beloved Dr. Seuss story, is visually stunning with impressive makeup and sets that have been praised by critics. It’s currently a popular choice for holiday viewers on Disney+.
‘Home Alone’ (1990)

Okay, let me tell you about ‘Home Alone’. It’s the story of Kevin, a kid who gets mistakenly left behind when his whole family jets off to Paris for Christmas. What follows is pure genius – Kevin has to defend his house from a couple of incredibly persistent burglars, and he does it with the most brilliantly over-the-top booby traps you can imagine, all made from everyday household stuff. Honestly, it’s become a tradition for so many families, including mine, to watch it every year. It’s just a perfect blend of laugh-out-loud slapstick and genuinely sweet moments, which is probably why it consistently dominates the streaming charts every December. It’s a classic for a reason!
‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York’ (1992)

As a huge movie fan, I always get a kick out of ‘Home Alone 2.’ It’s just so fun to see Kevin McCallister accidentally end up alone in New York City! He’s incredibly resourceful, managing to check into a fancy hotel and, of course, running into those familiar bad guys. This sequel really takes things up a notch – the traps are even more elaborate, and the whole adventure plays out across the massive backdrop of New York. It’s become a total tradition for me to watch it alongside the first ‘Home Alone’ during the holidays – a perfect nostalgic double feature!
‘Toy Story’ (1995)

Sheriff Woody and Buzz Lightyear begin as competitors for a boy’s attention, but they eventually learn to cooperate when faced with challenges outside their familiar world. This movie was groundbreaking as the first full-length film created entirely with computer animation. At its heart, the story is about friendship and the anxieties of being outgrown by a child. It’s considered a cornerstone of modern animated filmmaking and continues to be incredibly popular with audiences worldwide.
‘Freakier Friday’ (2025)

Tess and Anna Coleman are back in a new story where they switch bodies, and this time, their families are involved. The series follows the difficulties of being an adult when your identity suddenly changes in a strange way. Fans have been waiting a long time for this sequel, which features the original actors and shows how the characters have changed over the past twenty years. It’s already become very popular since being released on the streaming platform.
‘Avatar: Fire and Ash | A Special Look’ (2025)

This special preview offers a detailed look at how the latest movie in the popular science fiction series was made. It includes behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the filmmakers, who discuss the new cultures and characters being introduced to the world of Pandora. The preview focuses on a new group called the “fire people” and the obstacles the main characters will face. It’s a great way for fans to get excited about the upcoming movie.
‘The Fantastic 4: First Steps’ (2025)

The Fantastic Four, Marvel’s original superhero team, have arrived in a brand new movie. The film focuses on the strong family connection between Reed Richards and his colleagues as they use their incredible powers to both pursue scientific discoveries and save the world. This movie is intended to be the foundation for many future superhero stories, and it’s already become a huge hit with viewers, topping streaming charts this weekend.
‘Zootopia 2 | A Special Look’ (2025)

I’m so excited! We finally got a sneak peek at the new Zootopia movie, and it looks amazing! It’s great to see Judy and Nick back together on a new case. The preview showed off some beautiful concept art and little clips of the expanded city – it’s really grown! They’ve added so many new characters, and the animation is even more incredible than before. Everyone’s buzzing about it, and this preview really helped us get all the details we’ve been waiting for!
