Brad Pitt Wins Key Legal Battle Against Angelina Jolie, Private Messages to Be Released

Brad Pitt has won a significant legal victory in his dispute with Angelina Jolie regarding their shared ownership of Château Miravel, a vineyard in France.

A judge has ordered Angelina Jolie to hand over personal emails and texts detailing her intentions to sell her part of the property, according to documents obtained by Page Six.

I was reading Page Six, and apparently there’s a bit of a situation brewing with Brad and Angelina’s French vineyard. A source says some messages might suggest Angelina wasn’t entirely upfront about what she wanted with it. Now, she has 45 days to hand over those communications, so it sounds like things are really heating up!

Paul Murphy, Jolie’s lawyer, said they were disappointed with the court’s decision. He stated that the ruling was unlawful, denied Jolie a fair trial, and was part of a continuing pattern of harassment and control by Pitt. They plan to appeal the decision.

The conflict began when Pitt sued Jolie, alleging she sold her share of Château Miravel to the Stoli Group in 2021 without his agreement. Pitt and Jolie bought the vineyard together in 2008 for $28.4 million, and they had a pact not to sell their respective shares without the other’s permission. The former couple, married from 2014 to 2019, originally intended to make the vineyard their family home and build a business there.

Last October, Brad Pitt asked Angelina Jolie to provide all communication she had with her business team, including her manager, publicists, and financial advisors. Pitt argues that Jolie discussed the sale of their vineyard with people who weren’t lawyers, and these conversations are relevant to the legal case. He believes these messages are central to the dispute, stating they concern “the key transaction at issue in this litigation.”

Jolie maintains that her emails and messages are confidential due to legal discussions. She also claims Pitt is attempting to control and harass her, stating, “This lawsuit proves Mr. Pitt has been trying to harass and control me for years.”

The ongoing legal conflict between the couple regarding their vineyard stems from previous issues. Back in 2016, the FBI and Los Angeles County’s child protective services investigated allegations of child abuse against Pitt, but he wasn’t charged with any crime. More recently, in 2022, Jolie accused Pitt in a countersuit of attempting to force her into signing a confidentiality agreement related to claims of abuse.

Beyond his legal issues, Brad Pitt has been open about his personal battles with addiction. He achieved sobriety in 2016 and found support through Alcoholics Anonymous, specifically mentioning Bradley Cooper and Anthony Hopkins as helpful during his recovery. He also revealed he used cannabis in the late 1990s to deal with the pressures of fame, but later lessened his use to concentrate on his career.

The recent court decision favors Pitt in the ongoing disagreement over the vineyard, but the legal fight between the two actors isn’t finished. The case continues to attract a lot of public interest, revealing how complicated things can get when celebrities divorce, both personally and professionally.
