Lobo, Deathstroke, and Batwoman Get New DC Series in 2026

In 2026, many beloved DC Comics characters will return, with some like Lobo and Deathstroke poised for major roles in the new live-action DC Universe. Despite the excitement around DC’s Absolute Universe, the classic DC world isn’t being forgotten. In fact, it’s expanding with ‘DC Next Level,’ starting this March. Several characters will launch new series created by popular writers and artists, including Lobo (who will also star in the upcoming Supergirl series), Deathstroke, and Batwoman.

Lobo

As a huge comic and movie fan, I’m really excited about the upcoming Lobo series! For those who don’t know him, Lobo is this incredibly tough, interstellar bounty hunter – basically a space biker who loves a good brawl, and isn’t afraid to go toe-to-toe with Superman (though he’s not exactly a people person!). This new series is a great way to brush up on his story before Jason Momoa steps into the role next year. It’s being written by Skottie Young, with art and the main cover by Jorge Corona, and it hits shelves on March 4, 2026. I’ve included a look at the main cover and some variant options below – check them out!

Deathstroke: The Terminator

Fan-favorite anti-hero Deathstroke is poised to make an appearance in the DC Universe, and a new comic series is exploring a darker side of the character. Slade Wilson, the inspiration behind Marvel’s Deadpool, has a long list of enemies, and now one of them is systematically dismantling his life. The new series, Deathstroke: The Terminator, written by Tony Fleecs with art and cover by Carmine Di Giandomenico, launches on March 18, 2026, and reimagines Deathstroke as a relentless force of revenge. Interestingly, the series revives Deathstroke’s original nickname, “The Terminator,” a title DC previously abandoned due to the popular film franchise – but Slade Wilson earned the name first!

Batwoman

Greg Rucka, one of the creators of the popular LGBTQ+ character Batwoman, is returning to write her adventures. The new storyline will explore Kate Kane’s past, revealing she’s been affected by a prophecy and a dangerous religious group since childhood. The story asks: how can you defeat evil when it’s truly real, and is victory even possible? The first issue, with art and a cover by DaNi, will be released on March 11, 2026. You can find a look at the cover art below.

In 2026, DC will launch new comic series featuring popular heroes like Firestorm, Zatanna, The Demon Etrigan, Barbara Gordon, the Teen Titans, and the Legion of Super-Heroes, all under the DC Next Level banner. According to Scott Snyder, writer of Absolute Batman, these comics will be easy for new readers to pick up, similar to DC’s Absolute line, and will be released gradually. Joshua Williamson, writer of DC KO, explains that this is the next step in a larger plan for DC’s universe, hinting at many more stories to come. He playfully references the Legion of Super-Heroes, acknowledging the name’s double meaning.
