The new Avengers movie, “Doomsday,” is getting a lot of attention after early versions of its trailers appeared online. These trailers were supposed to be shown in theaters before the film “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” but they leaked several days early, quickly spreading across social media and sparking excited conversations among fans.
The Express Tribune reported that Marvel planned to release four short trailers, one each week starting December 19th, exclusively in movie theaters. Despite warnings against it, three of the trailers were filmed by viewers and quickly spread online, leading Marvel to request their removal.
Avengers: Doomsday teaser leak puts Marvel’s secret marketing plan at risk
Early looks at the upcoming teasers suggest they’ll feature beloved, established characters, which has already gotten fans excited. The most talked-about clip appears to bring back Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, potentially signaling Captain America’s return. Although Marvel hasn’t confirmed Evans’ participation, the teaser supposedly shows him riding a motorcycle to the house he retired to at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Inside, he looks at his old Captain America suit but ultimately chooses to pick up his baby son, who is thought to be named James Rogers.
I just saw the teaser, and it totally blew my mind! It finishes with a message saying Steve Rogers will be back in ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ and then it shows a countdown until the movie comes out. Seriously, I’m already counting down the days!
Chris Evans previously stated he wouldn’t be in the next Avengers movie. He mentioned missing working with Robert Downey Jr. and the directors, but expressed confidence they were making something great. However, after details leaked, many fans think Evans might have intentionally minimized his involvement to keep it a secret.
Here’s what the leaked Avengers: Doomsday teasers reveal
According to industry source Daniel RPK, the initial teaser trailer clearly shows Steve Rogers (Captain America) returning and sets him up as the central emotional figure in the upcoming movie. He believes the focus on Rogers is to make him the main character of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.
Recently leaked footage appears to reveal Chris Hemsworth returning as Thor and Robert Downey Jr. playing Doctor Doom, hinting at the movie’s main storyline. There are also reports that Marvel might adjust the timeline following the events of Endgame and concentrate more on well-known characters, potentially because some viewers haven’t connected with the newer ones.
Avengers: Doomsday features a star-studded cast including Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Robert Downey Jr. Joining them are Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, and Channing Tatum.
The Russo Brothers directed the movie, with a screenplay by Stephen McFeely. It’s scheduled to come out on December 18, 2026, and will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
