Hello, this is Jun-hee Lee, project director of BrownDust2.
The 2.5th Anniversary update is finally here.
We celebrated our 2nd Anniversary by hosting our first live broadcast for fans at our development studio, and followed that up with a second broadcast in Taipei for our 2.5th Anniversary. Today, we shared everything we’ve been working on during the broadcast, and we’re eager to know what you thought!
There’s a lot of news to share, so I’ll go straight to the main updates.
New Costumes
Bittersweet Bunny Darian

Hi, I’m Darian, the leader of Snow Rabbit Village! I’m on a journey to Icehold to get back the cold that the Ice Queen took. This special costume is only available for our 2.5th Anniversary, and you’ll be able to get it for four weeks.
She consistently damages enemies in a large area during combat. While her ability has a lengthy cooldown, hitting multiple targets will significantly reduce it.
Next, we have the skill cutscenes to showcase.

Please don’t spit on the bed – it’s difficult to clean up. Try to swallow instead, okay?
Shadow Bunny Eleaneer

I’ve heard about Eleaneer, a Shadow Bunny unlike any other. She wasn’t born with the usual snowy glow – she had this dark energy about her. While the other Snow Rabbits were busy trying to bring back the cold, she went off on her own, practicing archery in this crazy volcano covered in black ash. She basically taught herself to be an amazing archer, and honestly, it’s pretty awesome.
Offered as a Pickup Costume.
When I’m playing, this character is awesome because she can affect everyone on the field at once! She’s all about boosting my team and making the enemy’s life harder, with buffs for us and debuffs for them. It really changes the whole battle!
Next, we have the skill cutscenes to showcase.

The art team is urgently warning Eleaneer to stay away from the mint chocolate ice cream, as it poses a risk.
Innocent Bunny Tyr

I’m so excited about Innocent Bunny Tyr! She’s this adorable bunny girl, practically made of fresh snow, and she’s from the Snow Rabbit Village. She’s a little shy and gets scared easily, but she’s actually really talented. She’s going on this big adventure with Darian, the leader of her village, to the Ice Queen’s Icehold to find the cold that was stolen! I can’t wait – it’s available on December 30th!
During combat, the damage from her abilities is based on how much SP she uses. Each time she uses an ability, it costs more and more SP.
Next, we have the skill cutscenes to showcase.

Art Team Comment: Sticky rice cake ice cream
Frozen Queen Wilhelmina

Okay, so there’s this super strong queen, Frozen Queen Wilhelmina, and she’s causing some trouble! She basically rules this icy kingdom and has a whole army of ice soldiers, but she suddenly stole all the cold from Snow Rabbit Village – seriously! I need to check out the Event Pack to figure out why she did that.
Apparently, Wilhelmina was the clear winner in the 2nd Anniversary player vote, so the game is giving her away for free for the 2.5th Anniversary! I can upgrade her to +5 for free, and she’s not a limited-time thing – I can get her whenever, even after the update.
In battle, she’s a pretty straightforward fighter – she just attacks in a line, but she also buffs herself while she’s at it. Sounds like a solid character!
Next, we have the skill cutscenes to showcase.

Art Team Comment: I want to be the chair in your room for just one day
New Event Pack

The

New Season Event

Get ready for a new adventure! This story begins just two days after the Winter Event Pack. Following the theft of the cold, Eleaneer the Black Rabbit arrives at Snow Rabbit Village, determined to become a hero to the Snow Rabbits. Darian, the village leader, challenges her with a trial. Can Eleaneer prove herself and become the hero they need? Join us as we follow Eleaneer on her exciting and challenging quest!

Season Event Rerun

The Event Pack ‘Memory’s Edge’ from last winter will now be available to play permanently, meaning you won’t have to wait for it to return!
Fiend Hunter
Ashen Salamander (Fire) (December 16)

Okay, so the Ashen Salamander, that Fiend Hunter, doesn’t bother with stacking conditions like poison or bleed. Instead, it just hits hard with these massive area-of-effect attacks. Basically, it’s all about dealing damage to everyone around it at once!
Frost Spirit (Water) (December 30)

As a fan, I’ve noticed the second Fiend Hunter, Frost Spirit, is a bit different from the others. It doesn’t have as many pieces or skills, which actually makes it perfect for quick, action-packed fights! It’s all about getting in and out fast, and that’s what I love about it.
Guild Raid
Doomsday Machina (Wind) (December 16)

The Guild Raid boss, Doomsday Machina (Wind), stacks continuous damage on enemies.
Pickup Info

Starting in December, you can pick up three new bunny costumes: Darian, Eleaneer, and Tyr. Darian and Eleaneer will be available from December 16th, and Tyr will be available from December 30th. Please be aware that Darian is a limited-edition costume and will only be available for four weeks. Other limited bunny costumes will also be offered, including Robin Hood Zenith, which is Prestige Skin Zenith’s original costume, and will be available for four weeks. Finally, several older male costumes will be available for one week each – details are below.

We heard your feedback that some costumes, especially male ones, rarely appear in pickup events. We also know many of you earned certain costumes through random pulls while focusing on other banners and would like a chance to get them through dedicated pickups with event missions.
To address this, we’re bringing back four male costumes that have never been available in a pickup event before: Lathel the Dark Knight, Vanguard Gray, Fiend Scholar Olstein, and Sword Breaker Alec. We’ve chosen a variety of costumes so you can collect Exclusive Gear for each.
If you’ve already fully upgraded these characters, you’ll receive 204 Draw Tickets and 80 Ancient Crystals as a reward for participating in the event missions.
1 PICK Costume Selective Draw

We’re bringing back the popular 1 PICK Costume Selective Draw from our 2nd Anniversary celebration for our 2.5th Anniversary, and it will work the same way as before.
12 PICK Gear Selective Draw

You can choose 12 different 5-star UR Exclusive Gears, and each one has a 3% chance of being drawn. If you draw 100 times, you’re guaranteed to receive a random 5-star UR gear. This draw works just like the current 12-Pick Selective Draw, but the best part is you can use Selective Draw Tickets to get the gear!
Cutscene Update
Cutscenes will be added for costumes that previously didn’t have skill cutscenes.
The Curse Celia

Steel Engine Rafina

Knight of Blood Justia

And loop cutscenes will be added for all.
Loop cutscenes will be added for a total of 62 costumes.

New Fated Guest
Nightmare Bunny Eclipse

I’m so hyped! Eclipse is finally joining us as a Fated Guest! We tossed around a bunch of ideas for their look – like a wedding theme with Dream Bride or something cute with Bunny – but we kept coming back to Nightmare Bunny. It’s one of the original costumes for the game, and it just felt right. This story is all about a sweet romance, really showing off Eclipse’s softer side. We really wanted to make the way they fall for each other feel natural, showing their connection as they hang out at the diner and Eclipse’s bar.

Innocent Bunny Tyr

The second Fated Guest is Tyr, a sweet and shy Snow Rabbit bunny girl. She’ll be appearing in the winter Event Pack and the new seasonal event. While easily frightened, Tyr has an incredibly refined sense of smell and taste. The story follows the Master and Tyr as they bond over creating delicious desserts – Tyr was initially drawn to the restaurant by its wonderful aromas. Ultimately, they share a heartfelt moment and confess their feelings for each other while enjoying the snowy scenery from a cozy forest cabin.

Follow-up story of existing Fated Guest

We’ve added three more episodes for each of the characters you’ve already met. If you’ve finished up to episode 10 of the story, a new chat option will appear, letting you take part in a special event. Your daily attempts will be used as normal, and you’ll get some Deco Coins as a reward after completing episode 3 of the event.

The first character receiving updates is Nebris, a popular choice among players. After establishing a romantic connection with Nebris through a new contract, you’ll experience more intimate and heartwarming interactions with them in this update.

This next episode features Morpeah, the popular character from Vorpal Rabbit. We’ve explored a gentler, more endearing side of Morpeah, who was previously portrayed as a cool and regal queen. The updated version of Morpeah will be available on December 30th.

Up next is Loen! One year into a relationship, the story explores Loen’s feelings as work and personal life begin to blur. This episode showcases a new side of Loen – bolder and more charming than you’ve seen before. You can meet Loen on December 30th.
Voice Acting for existing Fated Guests
This summer, Wilhelmina and Sylvia, the Fated Guests, will receive voice acting. While voice acting for Angelica was also planned, the update was slightly delayed to allow for improvements to the game’s final chapter. We appreciate your patience.
New Prestige Skin
Stranger Bunny Zenith

Zenith, a skilled hunter known as Stranger Bunny Zenith, has a unique transformation – she becomes a rabbit! As the top sharpshooter in Fairy Tale Village, Zenith loves Snow Rabbits and disguises herself in a Snow Rabbit outfit to visit Snow Rabbit Village. Find out what happens to Zenith in the Event Pack! This pack features a special Prestige Skin for Zenith, based on her original Robin Hood look from Fairy Tale Village.

Art Team Comment: Hiyah!! Heave-ho!! Heave-ho!!
Interaction Content Update Plan

We’ve already launched three of the five new winter features. The final two will be released in January, so stay tuned!
New Field Content (December 16)

The new field content is Fantasia Square.
![]()
Okay, so they just dropped this new ‘Fantasia Square’ pack, and it’s basically a central hangout spot for all sorts of in-game events. It’s a big plaza with a bunch of different channels, and each channel can hold up to 100 players – pretty massive! The cool thing is, the plaza is going to change with the seasons. Since it’s launching in December, it’s decked out for Christmas right now, which looks awesome. It feels like a really solid base for them to add more stuff to in the future.

Once you join the group, you can read the introductory story about Justia. Fantasia Square is a large central area that links to different worlds, and it’s where you’ll find a scene of Justia getting fashion advice from Eleanor.
When you first enter Fantasia Square, the first step is to create and customize your character. All characters are designed in 3D, and at the start, you can choose from three options: Teresse, Liberta, and Liatris. The developers are planning to add even more characters soon.
![]()
Here are some customizable avatar characters! We’re kicking off December with festive Christmas outfits and accessories. And we’ve got plenty more fun and exciting items planned for the future!
![]()
Music will play when you dance.
You can also perform various motions, such as greeting or sitting.

A statue of the goddess Eilexion stands in the center of the plaza. If you make a wish to it, you’ll receive a daily blessing – a random reward of either Gold, Refining Powder, a Deco Coin, or a Draw Ticket.

Welcome to the Hall of Fame! Here you’ll find statues honoring the top three players from popular events like Fiend Hunter, Guild Raid, Mirror Wars, and the Golden Colosseum. You can also easily collect any rewards you’ve previously earned. A single ranking screen displays results from all events, and you can access it by interacting with the monument near the podium for a quick overview of all the leaderboards.

Fantasia Square lets players in the same channel chat with each other. Messages appear both above characters’ heads and in a dedicated chat window on the left side of the screen. The chat includes features like emoticons and keyword shortcuts, and you can also block or report other players if needed.

Starting in January, we’re adding a feature that translates messages in real-time. If someone sends a message in a language different from yours, it will be automatically translated, making it easier to chat with people who speak different languages. This feature will work in both Fantasia Square and your guild chat.
That covers the basic features. Next, we will introduce the first content.
Fishing (December 16)

Okay, so if you head over to the right side of the plaza, you’ll spot the dock. It’s from there you can catch a boat to the fishing area – pretty convenient, right?

When you first arrive at the dock, you’ll meet Spatti, a character who can teach you how to fish. The dock is also the place to get your fishing equipment ready before you start fishing.

This map helps you choose where to fish. When the game starts, there will be three different fishing spots to choose from. Each spot has its own unique fish, and you’ll be able to catch 14 different types in each location.
I’m really excited about this game! When it first comes out, it’ll be a solo experience, but the developers have promised multiplayer fishing soon. What’s cool is that as you improve your boat, you’ll be able to take friends – or let others join you! The more people on board, the better the fishing gets, thanks to special bonuses. Even better, if you hop on someone else’s upgraded boat, you can fish in areas you haven’t even unlocked yet! They’re planning to add the multiplayer stuff in January, so we just have a little bit to wait!

After you’ve finished preparing and set off, you can begin fishing. Fishing areas change between day and night every 30 minutes, and different types of fish appear during each time period. So, paying attention to the time is key to catching what you’re looking for.
Using bait while fishing gives you temporary benefits to help you catch more. When playing with others in multiplayer, if one person uses bait on the boat, everyone on board will get the benefit.

Press and hold the cast button on the side of the boat to build up the meter, then let go to cast your line. The fuller the meter is, the better your chances of catching a big fish.
Once the fish bites, press the button to begin reeling it in. When the indicator on the meter swings into the yellow or blue zone, tap the button again to pull the fish in.
Certain fish in the game have unique behaviors when you try to catch them, like changing how fast the ‘needle’ moves. Some use ‘trap’ techniques, where the needle might stop unexpectedly or the time you have to tap decreases. More valuable fish often employ a wider range of these techniques to make them harder to catch.

Even when you catch the same type of fish, they’ll all be different sizes. Plus, each fish you catch gives you fishing experience, and as you gain enough experience, your fishing level will go up, improving your fishing skills.
You can upgrade your boat up to five times. Each upgrade lets you carry more passengers and improves the boarding effects, helping you fish more effectively. Starting at level 2, you can also invite other players to join you and set up fish traps together.

Fishing takes time, but once you’ve caught a fish, you can also get it automatically using traps. These traps let you collect fish even when you’re not actively fishing, and how often you catch something depends on your boat’s level. You can only catch fish you’ve already caught before – legendary fish won’t appear in traps. You can easily check your traps from the home menu, and even collect while settling your bill at the Glupy Diner. Selling your fish earns you useful items like Gold, Refining Powder, and Deco Coins, up to a monthly limit. Once you’ve caught all the common fish, you can get all the monthly rewards just by checking your traps daily, without needing to fish manually. Catching rare and legendary fish is completely optional for those who want the challenge.

The fishing bag lets you view your rods, tools, and any fish you’ve reeled in. Once caught, fish are automatically added to your Codex and displayed in your aquarium.
Fish come in three types: Common, Rare, and Legendary. The Legendary ones are especially exciting – they include creatures like mermaids and beastfolk, so keep an eye out for them while fishing!

This aquarium lets you see the fish you’ve successfully caught. Once a fish is added, it appears at a set size and won’t be copied. You can observe your collection from both outside and inside the aquarium.
That concludes the explanation of Fantasia Square.
We’re excited to announce more lifestyle features are on the way, starting with updates to the plaza and fishing! We’ll regularly add new avatar characters, outfits, and items. Plus, look forward to a fresh new look for the plaza in January. We encourage you to try everything out and let us know what you think – your feedback is important as we continue to improve your experience.
Balance Adjustment (December 16)

Angelica is now stronger with all of her outfits, as the maximum health bonus from her costume effect has been increased. Several other characters are also receiving costume improvements: Elise, Anastasia, and Rou’s physical costumes, and Eclipse, Morpeah, and Levia’s magic costumes are all being buffed.

We’re boosting the highest possible score for Last Night from 3.5 billion to 7 billion! Plus, your scores will always be open for improvement, and you’ll earn bigger gold rewards as you challenge yourself. We’re also adding new achievements to go with this. Going forward, we’ll regularly update Last Night’s rewards and add more as we make changes to the game’s combat system, with major updates happening every six months.
Shop Product Additions (December 16)
We’re adding Gold and Refining Powder to the Mirror Wars and Evil Castle Shops. Both items are in high demand, so we’re including a monthly purchase limit. You’ll also be able to find Refining Powder in the Golden Thread and Powder of Hope Shops, also with a monthly limit. This will help keep the game fair by preventing some players from getting too far ahead in terms of these resources.
January 2026 New Characters (January 15)
Here’s a preview of what’s coming in the January update! It includes two full-color illustrations and two silhouette images. We’re also updating the hot spring costumes for Granadair and Blade, which were originally featured in event stories from the previous season.

The next Character Pack, called “Yoma Busters,” will be released in 2026. It’s the eighth pack overall and has a theme centered around hot springs and Japanese folklore creatures called yokai. We’ll share more information in our next broadcast.
Interaction Preview

Next, let’s talk about the quality of life improvements.
Open All Chest (December 16)

We’re adding a “Use All” feature to the consumables section of your bag. When you tap “Use All,” it will only show boxes that can actually be used. You can also tap and hold on a box icon to see what’s inside.
Switched to Weekly Reset (January 15)

We’ve updated field content to make it easier for players, as many of you asked. Field content will now reset every week, and you’ll receive seven times more rewards than before.
Indoor Finds Removed (January 15)

We’re removing the ability to find items indoors within Safe Zones. However, we’ll be adjusting the rewards you get outside of those zones to ensure the overall amount of loot you find stays the same.
Currently, you can use the Absorption ability up to 21 times and the Assemble ability up to 14 times. We’re adding another Assemble character soon, which will increase the Assemble limit to 21 as well.
Future content updates won’t include extra chances to repeat rewards, meaning you’ll be able to earn field rewards a total of 31 times.
With approximately 40 Safe Zones and 70 Battle Zones, owning all characters with the Absorption and Assemble abilities will allow you to find all Finds and Glutti in every zone within a week by using those abilities daily.
We explored a feature to combine “Quick Search–Absorption–Assemble–Overpower” into a single screen, letting players bypass field play altogether. However, this would remove the purpose of the abilities and the field itself, so we’ve paused development on it for now.
We want to see how the weekly reset affects gameplay before we add the Quick Search feature and refine Overpower to be a simple, one-click system. Since collecting Finds and catching Twing Glutti now reset weekly, the daily missions associated with them will be replaced with easier tasks, like checking diner stats or visiting your personal room.
Absorption / Assemble Button Combined (January 15)

The Absorption/Assemble buttons will be combined into a single button, and a feature will be added allowing you to customize which character’s ability skill to use first.
Fiend Hunter System Improvement (January 15)

We’re making some improvements to Fiend Hunter practice battles! You’ll now be able to battle up to level 20, and we’re adding a way to see stats for the most damage dealt in a battle. We’re also expanding the rankings – you’ll soon be able to see up to 10,000 players on the leaderboard and ID cards, a big increase from the current limit of 1,000 and 2,000 respectively.
Unequip / Equip All Gear (January 15)

Okay, so the developers are adding a super convenient feature – I’ll finally be able to quickly swap all my gear at once! It’s going to be in the UI for things like my Companion, Last Night, Fiend Hunter, Guild Raids, and a bunch of other modes, which is awesome. No more tedious individual swapping!
View Companion Recruitment Status (January 15)

We’re adding a new feature that lets you quickly check the progress of recruiting companions at the tavern, and view the full list of available companions no matter where you are.
We’re adding a dialogue history feature for illustrations during seasonal events and when interacting with Fated Guests. Many of you have asked for this, and we’re sorry it’s taken so long to implement.
Now, let’s update you on the items our development team discussed in the previous update and that we’ve been looking into.
A fix is needed regarding the forced repetition of crit attempts.
Okay, so about that crit issue we’ve been seeing – yeah, it got pushed back while we dealt with more urgent stuff, but we’ve finally had some really good talks about fixing it properly. Basically, Brown Dust 2’s crit damage is way higher than in most games, and you can just grind for top scores by putting in a ton of time. We’re working on a new system where you can hit 100% crit rate just through a character’s base stats and skills, without needing specific gear. That means even if you load up on crit damage gear, you can still max out your crit rate. But we don’t want crit rate gear to become useless, so we’re also adding a way to convert any crit rate over 100% into crit damage. We haven’t fully decided how this will all work yet, but the goal is to make it something everyone can achieve just by playing the game normally.
Okay, so we’re still working on that big system change, which is gonna take a bit. But we’ve also found something we can fix right now that’ll make things way better in combat. Basically, before, if I was trying to land a critical hit on a group of enemies, the game would check each one individually until it finally got lucky on them all. It was super annoying! Now, it’s gonna check for a crit just once for the whole area, and if it hits, everyone gets crit! We’re still testing this to make sure it doesn’t break anything, but we’re hoping to have it live either in January or February.
If an Exclusive Gear is an Armor or Helmet, it may be unusable depending on the Fiend Hunter boss.
We made some initial improvements to the Exclusive Gear issue in August 2025 by adjusting its balance. However, even after these changes, players couldn’t fully customize the defense or magic resistance of Exclusive Armor and Helmets, which made it tricky to equip them depending on the enemy type. Because of this, we’ve completely re-examined the problem and are planning further improvements.
We’re making some improvements to how stats work on gear. Soon, even lower-level gear will be able to benefit from Option Refinement. We’re also adding Defense (DEF) and Magic Resist as options for your secondary stats. This means crafted and exclusive gear will have the same stat options available. For example, you’ll be able to set both primary and secondary stats on Refithea’s exclusive gear to Defense. We’re also streamlining the process for choosing stats on exclusive gear – you’ll be able to customize them directly without needing a separate refinement step. These changes will be live in February. We understand the recent refinement changes have been confusing, and we apologize for that. As a thank you, all players will receive 2,000 Refining Crystals when the update goes live.
Players are asking for better rewards for completing event missions multiple times. A lot of people currently stop at +4 because the reward for +5 doesn’t seem worth the extra effort.
We’ve heard your feedback about the recent +5 reward increase in the Pickup Event Mission. Giving the extra reward only to future missions wouldn’t be fair to players who already completed past events. However, giving everyone who participated in past events an additional reward would make the overall rewards too high, so we’ve decided against that. We appreciate your understanding.
Are there plans to introduce a user voting system for Fated Guests in the future?
Fated Guest characters won’t be chosen by a public vote. Instead, they’ll be selected from the most popular characters from the 2.5th Anniversary popularity poll. The game will prioritize characters who haven’t already been a Fated Guest and who have a role in the anniversary storyline.
Here’s an update on Story Pack 19, released on November 20th, and a review of Story Packs 15 through 18. We’ve looked closely at all your feedback, and we’re truly sorry if we haven’t quite hit the mark with these packs. We appreciate your patience.
Here are the initial survey results for the ‘story’ section of the recent satisfaction survey, which we’ve been compiling since last Friday. I’ll now move on to share the results for the ‘new content’ section. Please note that this is a preliminary report, and the complete findings will be released at a later time.
First, we’ll start by reviewing the survey results related to the story.
Did you enjoy Story Pack 19: The Forgotten War?

When we looked at how players reacted to Story Pack 18, we saw fewer people strongly enjoyed it compared to the previous pack. Even including those who said they ‘somewhat enjoyed’ it, less than half of players gave a positive rating. Given the extra time and effort put into this pack, the results are unfortunately underwhelming.
Please describe why you found the story of Story Pack 19 enjoyable or not enjoyable.

We received a lot of feedback about the ending feeling rushed. Many people felt the main villains were defeated too quickly, which made the ending feel abrupt and didn’t quite live up to everything that had been built up beforehand.
We then received comments about problems with the story’s plot. Several readers felt Wilhelmina’s unexpected introduction didn’t fit well, and there was disagreement about how Lathel’s storyline unfolded.
We received feedback about the lack of Japanese voice acting, and we sincerely apologize for the delay. We’re happy to announce that the Japanese voice-over for Story Pack 19 is planned to be released in early 2026.
Honestly, people are really excited about where this game could go! Everyone’s loving the idea of a bigger world with more story and cool new places to explore. There’s a lot of hype for what the developers have planned next, and I’m definitely counting down the days!
Finally, here’s the feedback on the visuals. People particularly liked the character designs, the overall artistic direction, and how the game’s environments looked.
Besides the survey, we’ve looked at all the feedback from every region, and I agree with your concerns. We should have performed better, especially considering the update was already late. I sincerely apologize for not meeting expectations.
Story Packs 15–18 have been renewed. How satisfied are you with the new stories?

We recently updated the stories in Story Packs 15 through 18. A survey showed that over 55% of players hadn’t read the updated content. When asked why, the most frequent answer was that they hadn’t gotten to that part of the game yet. Other players either weren’t aware of the updates or didn’t feel motivated to replay the story without extra incentives, as they had already finished it once.
Please describe the reasons why you found the story enjoyable or not enjoyable.

The feedback was generally split between positive and negative reactions. Those who liked it often highlighted the more consistent storyline and the characters’ greater emotional depth. Many also appreciated that the revised dialogue made the characters’ reasons for acting clearer and helped the story move along more easily. Finally, the added animated scenes were frequently mentioned as a positive addition that improved the overall experience.
However, we also received a lot of negative feedback. Many people felt that the alterations to Olivier’s story lessened the feeling of being drawn into the experience, and worried that the core of the original story was being lost. Several readers expressed a preference for the original and wondered why changes were made at all.
We’ve spent a lot of time considering the survey feedback. The story’s revisions weren’t just based on what fans said – I also felt changes were needed to move the story forward. However, improving the story is different from fixing technical issues. It requires careful planning and a sensitive approach, so rushing things or making small changes won’t be enough. We now recognize that we should have focused more on quality and preparation from the start.
Future Direction of Main Story

Alongside this, we comprehensively reviewed elements we have been continuously considering, such as story quality, improvement plans, and enhancing character immersion, and decided to re-evaluate the future story development plans for BrownDust2 from the ground up.
In particular, our main concern was the storyline following Story Pack 20 and the improvement direction for existing Story Packs 1 to 19. To enhance character immersion, we actively considered adopting a first-person perspective for the main story.
Players have consistently pointed out that, despite great character designs, they don’t interact enough with the characters. This is largely because the player isn’t directly involved in the main storyline, which makes it harder to feel connected to what’s happening. While the ‘Glupy Diner’ story offers a first-person experience, it’s separate from the main game and doesn’t feature many characters from it, and isn’t updated very often. To address this, we’ve decided to integrate a first-person perspective directly into the main story, bringing players closer to the characters and making the experience more immersive.
Simply changing to a first-person point of view won’t magically fix a story’s problems. The issues here have more to do with the story’s overall quality than how it’s told. However, we chose this approach because telling the story from a first-person perspective helps create a stronger sense of immersion and makes the character more engaging.
I’ll also share the thought process behind how we plan to implement the first-person perspective.
One option is to introduce the Master into the story after Story Pack 20, allowing them to build relationships with characters like Justia from their own point of view. At the same time, the first nineteen story packs will be updated, but will remain told from an outside perspective. Because any character could potentially develop a romantic connection with the Master, we’ll need to reduce existing romantic pairings as much as possible. However, we’re worried about how well this new narrative will fit in, and that completing the first nineteen packs will take time before we can move forward.
We’re planning to introduce a new character, replacing Lathel, beginning with Story Pack 1. This will allow players who have finished the BrownDust2 storyline to experience Story Pack 1 with fresh eyes. Currently, the story is told from a somewhat distant perspective, and we were concerned that a strongly defined Lathel might prevent players from fully connecting with a new protagonist. We also wanted to ensure the character in the “Glupy Diner” story aligned seamlessly with the main narrative, avoiding any inconsistencies.
We also explored several other options.
Among these, we decided to proceed with the first approach.
We want to seamlessly integrate the Master into the main story after Story Pack 20, creating a natural progression and using a first-person perspective to tell the tale.

Okay, so we’ve made a big change for new players! Instead of having to grind through all the old story packs, they can now jump right into what will actually be the beginning of Part 2 – we’re calling it Story Pack 2-1. Think of it like this: everything before that, Story Packs 1-1 through 1-19, will become kind of like backstory, showing what happened before the main events of Part 2 kick off. It’s a much better way to get started, trust me!

As we previously announced, we’re working with an outside company to update the existing story packs. We’ve broadened the scope of this collaboration to include a complete review of all content from Part 1. Initially, the update covered packs 1 through 14, but now includes packs 15 through 19, as well as the Season Event, “Going Home.” We’ll keep you updated on our progress as we move forward.
We’re committed to improving our storytelling and will do everything we can to achieve that, including working with outside specialists and building up our team. We’ll keep striving to deliver a more compelling narrative.
We also have some extra news beyond the regular patch notes, including details about upcoming events and merchandise we think our fans will love.

Players who already have costumes for characters like Lathel, Alec, Gray, and Olstein will get extra benefits from the free draws, as those costumes will be featured in the pickup banners.
You can find specific details about event times and rules in the upcoming announcements and on the 2.5-Year Anniversary event roadmap, which is available on the anniversary website.
Special Infinite Draw Improvements

We’re updating the Special Infinite Draw that has run every anniversary so far.
The basic idea stays the same: you can keep creating new designs until you’re happy with what you get. We’ve added an improvement: now, every attempt will definitely reward you with at least one 5-star costume. We hope you find this feature more useful and enjoyable!
New “Golden Hand” Draw

We’re adding a new draw type called Golden Hand. Like the Infinite Draw, it guarantees 5★ costumes.
This draw works a little differently than others: you first pick 12 costumes you’d like to see. The game then chooses from only those 12, and it will always give you at least 3 of them. You might even get the same costume multiple times! Unlike some other draws, you only get one chance – the results are decided right away after you purchase it. While luck still plays a role, we think this will be great for players who are still collecting costumes, or those aiming to complete their Golden Hand achievements.
My Room Furniture Pass

The My Room Furniture Pass is a new offering that gives you access to exclusive furniture not available anywhere else.
You can get a ‘School Washroom’ furniture set (9 pieces) for free, or a ‘School Track and Field Club’ furniture set (9 pieces) with a paid pass. If you place the characters ‘Track and Field Captain Levia’ and ‘Track and Field Team Loen’ alongside the paid furniture set, you’ll unlock a special scene in your My Room.

Web Shop Updates

The Web Shop is also getting some useful improvements:
Region / Currency Change Option (Once per Account)
As a player, I’m really glad to hear that we’ll be able to switch our payment region and currency once per account! It’s awesome that they’re addressing the issues some of us have had with getting the right region or currency set up – it’s a huge help for those of us who were running into problems.
New Attendance Event
We’re launching a new login event on the Web Shop where you can earn rewards like 20% off coupons, Draw Tickets, and Selective Draw Tickets! Check the event details for more information.

Lastly, here’s a look at the offline events being prepared around the 2.5-Year Anniversary.
We’re also planning more events in other regions going forward.
We’re excited to celebrate our 2.5-Year Anniversary at several upcoming events! You can find us at Comic Market 107 in late December, Guangzhou FFACG EXPO in early January, and Taipei Game Show (TGS) 2026 in late January. We hope to see you there and share the fun and special gifts we have planned.
We’ll do our best to make it a fun and memorable celebration for everyone!
That wraps up today’s update.
We know the content after the summer update wasn’t as good as we hoped, and we apologize for that. We truly appreciate our fans’ patience. We’re committed to continuing to release meaningful content in the months ahead – January, February, March, and beyond – even if it’s not always in the form of huge updates. We’ll do our best to make sure you have plenty to enjoy.
As always, we would like to close this Developer Note with a gift.
We’re giving all players a special gift as a thank you! You’ll receive 600 Dia and 40 Cooked Rice. Check your in-game mailbox to claim it – the gift is available until December 16, 2025.
Thank you.
