Okay, fellow movie and TV lovers, it’s hitting me that Stranger Things is really ending! I’ve already seen the first part of Season 5, which is the final season, and honestly, it’s a little bittersweet. We’re so close to seeing the very last episodes ever! The Duffer Brothers just dropped some details about episodes five, six, and seven, and the best news is they’ve completely finished Volume Two – locked, mixed, scored, everything! They’ve given us a little peek at what to expect from those final episodes, and I’m already bracing myself for an emotional rollercoaster.
The Duffer Brothers Reveal Description of Stranger Things 5, Episode 5, “Shock Jock”
The Duffer Brothers recently discussed episode five of Stranger Things 5, titled “Shock Jock.” They explained that the episode immediately follows the events of “Sorcerer” and features a return by director Frank Darabont. However, they noted that Darabont’s work on this episode is significantly darker and more frightening than his previous episode, “Turnbow Trap.”
We really enjoyed the latest episode, “Turnbow Trap,” because it moved the story forward. However, the descriptions of things getting “darker and scarier” in the final season of Stranger Things are a little worrying. We’re also not fans of the episode title, “Shock Jock.” While we know it refers to a dramatic radio personality, it also sounds like someone might get electrocuted, and we’re concerned for our favorite characters, Lucas and Steve!
The Duffer Brothers Reveal Description of Stranger Things 5, Episode 6, “Escape from Camazotz”

Episode 6 of Stranger Things 5, titled “Escape from Camazotz,” marks director Shawn Levy’s return to the series. The Duffer brothers describe it as the largest episode of the final season, packed with incredibly moving performances that consistently bring them to tears.
It looks like the emotional stakes are high! We now know that Camazotz represents a prison built from the memories of Henry/Vecna/One. This episode seems to be about Max and Holly trying to escape that prison, and we’re hoping their efforts lead to a positive outcome – hopefully, our tears will be tears of joy!
The Duffer Brothers Reveal Description of Stranger Things 5, Episode 7, “The Bridge”

The Duffer Brothers recently discussed the next-to-last episode of Stranger Things 5, as well as the entire Stranger Things series. They described episode 6, titled “The Bridge,” as being co-directed with Shawn Levy. They shared that, while they don’t want to give away too much, it’s likely the most emotionally impactful episode of the season, aside from the finale.
Episode five was already a tearjerker, and we’ve heard episode six is even more emotionally intense. We’re bracing ourselves – we don’t know how we’ll cope! Plus, with the Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy all directing, we know this episode is going to be huge.
We Don’t Yet Know the Runtimes for Stranger Things 5, Volume 2
The creators of Stranger Things have announced that they’ll soon share the running times for the final episodes of season 5. Get ready to cry – we just don’t know yet how long those episodes will be!
The final episodes of Stranger Things 5 will be released in two parts this December. Volume 1 is currently available for streaming. Volume 2 comes out on Christmas Day (December 25th), and Volume 3 will be released on New Year’s Eve (December 31st). Both volumes will become available at 5 PM Pacific Time / 8 PM Eastern Time.
