SUPERGIRL Trailer Intros a Darker DCU ‘Super’ Hero

The latest trailer for Supergirl has arrived, set to Blondie’s iconic song “Call Me.” It opens with Kara celebrating her 23rd birthday alone, optimistically hoping it will be her best year yet, though she jokingly admits the bar isn’t set very high. Many viewers can relate! What’s particularly interesting is that the trailer quickly establishes Kara as Kara Zor-El, highlighting that, unlike Superman, she hasn’t fully adjusted to life on Earth and remains heavily connected to her Kryptonian past.

It’s understandable why she feels that way. The trailer for Supergirl shows us she witnessed the complete destruction of her home planet, Krypton, losing everything she knew. That kind of trauma would be enough to make anyone cope with hardship, even someone with superpowers. Ultimately, as Kara states in the trailer, she’s different from her cousin, Superman. He always looks for the best in people, while she focuses on seeing things as they really are.

Even with everything going on, Supergirl quickly changes from a relaxed person at home to a powerful hero. Although she questions the world around her, she’s sure to step up and save the day soon.

The new trailer for DCU’s Supergirl is a touching story about Kara, and it also offers a first look at Jason Momoa as Lobo. It’s packed with exciting action, imaginative settings, and the blossoming friendship between Kara and Ruthye Mary Knolle (Eve Ridley). Together, they embark on a mission for revenge against Supergirl’s enemy, Krem of the Yellow Hills, played by Matthias Schoenaerts. Even from this short teaser, their chemistry is fantastic!

The DCU‘s Supergirl will release in theaters on June 26, 2026.
