In Where Winds Meet, you’re free to explore a vast open world at your own pace, filled with rewarding adventures and discoveries. You can do everything from helping children achieve their goals to uncovering hidden secrets and ancient crypts in the cities of Kaifeng and Qinghe, all while building a life for yourself in the vibrant world of jianghu.
Many optional adventures and events are cleverly concealed, so you might overlook them if you aren’t specifically searching. “The Road To Redemption” is a good example – it’s easy to miss unless you happen to be in the correct location at the right moment, as it’s not obvious someone needs assistance.
How To Start The Road To Redemption
This quest is a bit tricky because the character you need to find, Daohui, isn’t always in the same place. He visits the Buddha shrine during the day, but at night you’ll find him sleeping on the floor of the monastery. You might not even realize you’ve started the quest until you’ve finished it!
Begin your journey by traveling to the monastery atop Halo Peak. Then, climb further up the mountain in the afternoon to find Daohui praying. When you speak with him, you’ll discover he’s seeking forgiveness for past errors, as he blames himself for a terrible event that happened in the Bodhi Sea.
The Bodi Sea is a dangerous area, so be careful if it’s your first time venturing there.
Where To Find The Illegible Final Note
Visit the Pagoda of Karmaful Karma at Yongfu Temple. You’ll probably hear loud drums echoing through the swamp. Daohui doesn’t need anything from you, but you can find a note hidden in the swamp that will help calm his worries.
Okay, so starting from that Boundary Stone in the pagoda, I turned around and headed for the open gates. Before I even got to those helper signposts, I spotted a scroll on the ground to my left. I grabbed the ‘Illegible Final Note’ and read it – it didn’t give me a ton of info, but it gave me a little more of the story.
The Road To Redemption Rewards
Go back to Daohui at Halo Peak and give him the note. This will help him feel better and let him put the past behind him. You’ll be rewarded with the following items:
