‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Actress Dies in NYC Car Accident

I was so saddened to hear about Wenne Alton Davis. She was a wonderful actress, I really enjoyed her work on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and tragically, she passed away after being hit by a car in New York City. She was only 60 years old, it’s just awful.

On Monday, December 8th, the New York Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at the corner of West 53rd Street and Broadway. Their investigation revealed that Davis was hit by a black 2023 Cadillac XT6 driven by a 61-year-old man.

The woman sustained critical injuries and died at a local hospital. The driver remained at the scene and was uninjured. Police are still investigating the crash, with the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad leading the effort, according to Us Weekly. No arrests have been made at this time.

Wenne Alton Davis (born Wendy Davis in Durham, North Carolina) is an actress and comedian who began performing in New York City in her late 20s, eventually settling in Forest Hills, Queens. She’s appeared in several television shows, including a 2023 role as a police officer in an episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, as well as guest appearances in New Amsterdam, Blindspot, Girls5eva, and Rescue Me.

Her agent shared with The New York Times that she absolutely adored New York City, her work as an actress, the people she worked with at the airport, but most of all, she cherished her family and her incredibly large group of friends. It’s clear she lived a full and loving life.
