Jimmy Kimmel Says Trump Is Treated Like a Toddler

Jimmy Kimmel poked fun at Donald Trump’s plan to hold a UFC fight at the White House. Kimmel joked that Trump was acting like a kid by wanting the event, especially since it’s scheduled for June 14, 2026 – his 80th birthday.

Kimmel joked, ‘Who’s celebrating their 80th birthday with a call for a brawl on their front lawn? It has to be the most unpleasant person alive.’

Jimmy Kimmel highlighted the unusual location of the UFC weigh-ins – the Lincoln Memorial – and emphasized he wasn’t kidding. He then questioned the logic of defending the American flag while being okay with fighters weighing in wearing minimal clothing right in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Kimmel sarcastically suggested it was like treating Lincoln as a child throwing a birthday party, remarking on how everyone caters to him as if he were three years old.

Comedian Jimmy Kimmel and Donald Trump have a history of clashing. In September, Kimmel was briefly taken off the air by ABC after threats related to the chair of Trump’s Federal Communications Commission. Since his return, he’s continued to criticize Trump on his show, and his contract has now been extended through the 2026-2027 season.

Jimmy Kimmel joked that dealing with Donald Trump is like managing a three-year-old. He described a pattern of needing constant attention, instant rewards, and endless praise, even for simple things. Kimmel playfully suggested Trump’s staff caters to his whims, like letting him take naps and indulging his cravings for McDonald’s and ice cream.

During the Kennedy Center Honors, Donald Trump spoke about an upcoming UFC fight and mentioned a new 5,000-seat arena being constructed to host it. UFC President Dana White previously announced the event in September, playfully referring to it as “The White House fight.”

Ivanka Trump, who is a skilled Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner with a blue belt, is said to be assisting with the event. Her father, Donald Trump, has been a dedicated UFC fan for years and has a longstanding relationship with UFC President Dana White, dating back to when Trump hosted fights at his Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City in the early 2000s.

Trump stated the event wasn’t scheduled to celebrate his birthday. He explained that it was planned for Sunday, June 14th, which also happens to be Flag Day. According to Trump, when his team suggested the date, he simply agreed, noting it was his birthday, but that wasn’t the reason for choosing it.

Jimmy Kimmel made a joke comparing Donald Trump to a toddler, pointing out what he sees as immature behaviors. He said Trump constantly seeks attention, which is why he held daily press conferences, and that he expects instant satisfaction, like having a button to order Diet Coke. Kimmel also noted that Trump frequently receives undeserved praise and often takes naps during meetings.

Jimmy Kimmel described his son’s typical toddler behavior: he gets McDonald’s on demand, enjoys ice cream every night, loves to draw with Sharpies even when he shouldn’t, and repeatedly requests the same two songs. Kimmel also joked that if his son would just switch from watching Newsmax to the children’s show CoComelon, many of their challenges would be resolved. He mentioned his son is three years old.
