Shia LaBeouf may be rejoining Michael Bay for the Transformers reboot.
I was reading a really interesting account from someone who met Shia LaBeouf at a convention recently. Apparently, they just told him they loved his work and wanted to see more, and he responded with, ‘more of these!’ Then, they noticed the fan was wearing a Transformers shirt and asked if that meant he might be returning to the franchise. The fan said Shia actually smiled and said, ‘I’m working on it.’ It’s not a confirmation, of course, but it’s definitely got me excited!
So, I was chatting with another fan, and they said Shia LaBeouf isn’t confirming anything official just yet – it’s all very much in the early stages, like he’s just exploring possibilities. Things could totally fall apart, but the conversation felt real enough to get long-time fans like me genuinely excited about what could happen.

Bay in Africa, Reboot Heating Up
Michael Bay has been looking at filming locations in Africa, and people are speculating it’s for a new Transformers movie.
Sources say Michael Bay pitched a fresh concept for the franchise to Paramount, and Skydance is currently considering a script that would bring him back to direct.
The timing of Bay’s trip and LaBeouf’s comment appears to line up.

Not a Clean Reboot?
LaBeouf last appeared in Transformers: Dark of the Moon in 2011.
If he joins the project, the new film likely won’t be a complete reboot; instead, it could continue the story from the original trilogy or expand on it. This strategy fits with Skydance’s focus on reviving popular franchises and using well-known figures to attract viewers worldwide.

Paramount’s Pivot to Big Franchises
Paramount is clearly shifting back to high-profile, male-led franchises.
A new Rush Hour sequel is in the works, with Brett Ratner returning as director.
According to reports, this project was initiated at the request of President Trump. Ratner previously provided funding for Zack Snyder’s DC movies, and it now seems likely that both Bay and Snyder could be involved again.
