Harris Dickinson Rumored To Be The MCU’s Cyclops In Spider-Man: Brand New Day

A recent rumor suggests Marvel may have found their Cyclops: British actor Harris Dickinson is reportedly being considered for the role, adding to the growing excitement about the studio’s plans for mutants.

Josh from Den of Nerds recently highlighted that Jeff Sneider was the first to report that actress Florence Pugh was considered for a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming X-Men reboot.

A few weeks later, industry insider DanielRPK reported that Marvel was looking for an actor similar to Harris Dickinson for the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day project.

Josh summed up the obvious connection with: “Do I have to spell this out for you?”

How Cyclops Fits Into Spider-Man: Brand New Day

If actor Evan Peters is confirmed to be playing Cyclops, it hints that Marvel might introduce several young X-Men characters in the upcoming Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland, before fully featuring them in the next Secret Wars film.

There’s talk that Sadie Sink might play Jean Grey, and if true, Spider-Man: Brand New Day could be the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe fully introducing mutants.

This move fits with Marvel’s plan to refresh its X-Men lineup, suggesting these younger characters will be the main team for years to come.

A while ago, we were even told Henry Cavill is being eyed as the MCU’s Wolverine.

What This Means For Marvel’s X-Men Reboot

Rumors suggest Marvel is building a new team of younger, more realistic heroes, a different approach than the older, alternate versions of characters expected to show up in Doomsday.

Okay, so Daken Dickinson? He absolutely screams classic Cyclops vibes, and honestly, I can totally see Marvel building their new X-Men team around him after Secret Wars. He’s got the leadership potential and the right kind of baggage to really make things interesting. I’m predicting he’ll be a key player in whatever comes next for the mutants in the MCU.

Since Brand New Day is being released several months before Doomsday, the film could be subtly setting up the new team of mutants Marvel plans to focus on.
