DC Comics announced that Superman/Spider-Man #1 will be released on March 25, 2026. This special one-shot comic celebrates 50 years of team-ups between DC and Marvel characters and will feature eight brand-new stories created by many of the most popular comic book writers and artists.
DC & Marvel Continue Their 50th Anniversary Crossover Push
DC and Marvel have announced they’ll continue their collaboration through 2026. This means more new stories and reprints based on their classic 1976 crossover, Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man.
DC has just announced who will be working on Superman/Spider-Man #1, along with some details about the story and a preview of the cover art.
This extra-long issue will be available on March 25th for $7.99 (standard cover) and $8.99 for the card stock version. You can pre-order it at your local comic book store using the DC shop locator.

Lead Story: Superman & Spider-Man vs. Brainiac & Doctor Octopus
As a huge movie fan, I’m really excited about this team-up! It looks like Mark Waid and Jorge Jiménez are bringing Clark Kent and Peter Parker together – they’re both investigating the same clue, and it seems to point to a big conspiracy involving Brainiac and Doctor Octopus. It’s going to be epic!
When two determined reporters start uncovering secrets, the villains realize they’re being investigated, and the world’s greatest heroes are called upon to intervene. This story, by Waid and Jiménez, is a major event DC Comics is promoting as a highlight of their anniversary celebration.

Bonus Stories From Top Creators
Seven additional stories fill the issue, each pairing DC and Marvel characters in new matchups:
- Tom King & Jim Lee craft a Lois Lane and Mary Jane Watson team-up.
- Matt Fraction & Steve Lieber return to Jimmy Olsen — and bring Carnage with him.
- Sean Murphy launches a future-set story starring Superboy (Legion) and Spider-Man 2099.
- Gail Simone & Belén Ortega show what happens when Power Girl meets the Punisher.
- Christopher Priest & Daniel Sampere explore a moment when Superboy Prime — who reads every comic — pays a visit to Spider-Man right after he gets the black suit.
- Greg Rucka & Nicola Scott stage a competition between the Daily Planet and the Daily Bugle.
- Jeff Lemire & Rafa Sandoval dive into the past to explore a bonding moment between Pa Kent and Uncle Ben.
DC Comics playfully considers the hypothetical question of who would win a fight between Pa Kent and Uncle Ben, but points out that both characters would never resort to violence.

Huge Lineup of Variant Covers
I’m really excited about the new release! Besides the awesome main cover by Jorge Jiménez – which will also have a shiny foil version – DC is letting shops order special cardstock variants, too. It’s great that they’re offering more options for collectors like me!
I’m absolutely blown away by the incredible artistry involved! Seriously, the talent is just phenomenal – Jim Lee, Scott Williams, Alex Sinclair, Daniel Sampere, Tomeu Morey, Dave Johnson, David Nakayama, Gabriele Dell’Otto, Mikel Janín, Rafael Albuquerque, Artgerm, David Talaski, Arthur Adams, Chrissie Zullo, Josh Middleton, Scott Koblish, Olivier Coipel, Adam Hughes, Mitch Gerads, Jeff Spokes, Doc Shaner, Steve Lieber, J. Scott Campbell, Clayton Crain, Rafael Sandoval, and so many other amazing artists all contributed! It’s a dream team of creative brilliance.

Part of DC & Marvel’s 2026 Crossover Slate
The issue follows DC’s 2026 Treasury Edition reprints of the original crossover, including:
- Treasury Edition 50th Anniversary of Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man #1 (January 7, 2026)
- DC and Marvel Present: Superman and Spider-Man Treasury Edition #1 (February 4, 2026)
DC announced that the ongoing celebration of crossovers will continue with Marvel’s Spider-Man/Superman #1 in April, and more crossover titles will be revealed soon.

Ongoing DC/Marvel Crossover Momentum
The new one-shot follows this year’s crossover releases:
- Deadpool/Batman #1 (Marvel, September 17) — already through multiple printings
- Batman/Deadpool #1 (DC, November 19) — receiving a new print run January 28, 2026
Both companies say more announcements are coming throughout 2025 and 2026.
