‘The Batman’ Loses Key Star Ahead of Sequel

Sources say Zoë Kravitz won’t be reprising her role as Catwoman in the next Batman movie.

I’m so excited for the next installment! I heard it’s coming out on October 1st, 2027, and even better, Matt Reeves is back to direct and write it with Mattson Tomlin. I can’t wait to see what they come up with!

Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell are all returning to play their characters from the previous film: Batman, Jim Gordon, Alfred Pennyworth, and the Penguin, respectively.

The upcoming Batman movie will see the hero tackling a new mystery in Gotham City. This case will explore the ongoing problems of corruption and societal fractures that were revealed by the recent flooding and the rise of The Penguin.

I’m so excited for the sequel! It’s been a bit of a wait, but apparently the director was really perfecting the script, and it was finally finished in June. From what I’ve heard, they’re planning to start filming around late April or early May of 2026, mostly at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in England, but also in Liverpool and Glasgow. Luke Hull is in charge of the production design, and Erik Messerschmidt is doing the cinematography – both are super talented, so I’m really looking forward to how it all looks!

Zoë Kravitz has described her character, Selina Kyle (Catwoman), as a complex woman with a tough life – she works as a waitress and a thief, and is even involved with drugs. She meets Batman while looking for a friend who has disappeared. Kravitz explained that Selina forces Batman to question his strict sense of morality. According to Kravitz, Selina is evolving into a powerful, independent woman as she navigates a difficult world and tries to find her place in it.

She portrayed Selina Kyle as an enigmatic character with hidden intentions, and a distinctly feminine counterpart to Batman’s more masculine persona. The initial report about Zoë Kravitz leaving the project came from Deadline.
