People are excited about the new Supergirl movie, and talk of the first trailer is spreading online. It’s expected to be revealed before CCXP, a major pop culture event happening in São Paulo, Brazil from December 4th to 7th.
Some websites dedicated to DC content have reported receiving information about the teaser from reviewers who got early access.
Several social media accounts, including @fandompulse and @BeyondReporter, are reporting that the new trailer begins with a funny scene. Apparently, it shows Krypto the Superdog playfully lifting his leg to pee on a rock in space. The camera then focuses on Supergirl, who is waking up looking messy, tired, and with a bad hangover, according to the leaked information.
When a Blondie song starts, the show’s energy changes and the action picks up. We see Kara rocketing through space, fighting aliens, and flying incredibly fast. According to the lead, the show has a different feel than Superman – it’s more intense, vibrant, and features a Supergirl who isn’t afraid to fight.

Directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira, Supergirl stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, alongside Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham. The movie centers on Supergirl’s journey across the galaxy as she seeks revenge. James Gunn and Peter Safran of DC Studios produced the film.
A Supergirl movie has been in the works since August 2018, intended to be part of the DC Extended Universe.
Sasha Calle first portrayed the character in the 2023 film The Flash. After James Gunn and Peter Safran took leadership of DC Studios in October 2022, the project was revised. The new film, officially announced in January 2023, will be based on the comic book series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. Drew Nogueira signed on as writer in November 2023, followed by Milly Alcock being cast in January 2024, and then Jennifer Gillespie joining the team in May 2024.
Filming took place from January to May at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, London, and in Scotland.
Warner Bros. Pictures will release the Supergirl movie in the U.S. on June 26, 2026. It will be one of the first films in the new DC Universe, kicking off what they’re calling ‘Chapter One: Gods and Monsters’.
