After a very public legal fight with Johnny Depp, Heard relocated to Spain in 2022. Reports suggested she was seeking a more peaceful life, away from the attention in the United States. This move happened shortly after she had her first child.

In 2021, she became a mother to her daughter, Oonagh, through surrogacy, and later shared her story online. She explained that she had decided four years prior she wanted to be a mother, and wanted to do so independently. She expressed her hope that others would recognize a woman’s right to choose motherhood regardless of marital status. Describing Oonagh, she wrote, “She’s the beginning of the rest of my life.”

This year, Amber Heard surprised everyone by announcing the birth of her twins, Ocean and Agnes, who were born via surrogacy. She posted a photo of their tiny feet and shared how incredibly happy she was to finally have the family she’s always wanted. The announcement revealed she’s been quietly expanding her family while living outside the country.

Amber Heard has been a frequent subject of public attention because of her previous relationship with Johnny Depp. They divorced in 2016 following mutual accusations of abuse.

The dispute between the two escalated into a highly publicized defamation trial stemming from an opinion piece she published in 2018 detailing her experiences with abuse. The jury found that Heard had defamed Depp on three occasions, and Depp had defamed Heard once. Ultimately, the case was settled when Heard withdrew her appeal and agreed to pay Depp $1 million.
