Even the most enjoyable Marvel movies have small mistakes, and ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ is no exception, with plenty hidden within its fast-paced, colorful scenes. Dedicated fans have noticed inconsistencies, moments that don’t quite follow the laws of physics, and little quirks with the props throughout the worlds of Sakaar and Asgard. Most of these errors are very quick and easy to miss, only becoming apparent upon closer inspection. Here are ten you can try to spot during your next watch – you won’t even need to pause constantly!
Mjolnir’s shattered pieces keep moving

When Hela destroys Thor’s hammer in Norway, the pieces don’t stay consistent between shots. Their positions shift on the ground, and even their size and spacing change. The markings on the pavement around the hammer fragments also appear differently in each shot.
Valkyrie’s tattoo and face paint switch sides

Valkyrie’s tattoo and war paint aren’t always shown in the same place. Throughout the movie, they sometimes appear flipped or change position, especially during fast-paced scenes where she’s moving prisoners. It’s clear the makeup and costume team had to quickly reset things between each shot, leading to these inconsistencies.
Skurge’s twin rifles never need reloading

In the final battle on the Bifrost, Skurge fires two rifles with detachable magazines. He continues firing long bursts without reloading, despite clearly emptying the magazines. The rifles continue to flash as if firing, but the magazines never change, and he doesn’t appear to have any extra ammunition on him during the scene.
Banner’s borrowed clothes change size

Following their escape from the arena, Bruce Banner puts on some spare clothes Tony Stark had on the Grandmaster’s ship. Initially, the clothes seem too small for him, which makes sense given his larger size. However, moments later, the outfit becomes loose and starts to rip in different places during the action, even though there’s no scene showing him changing. The length of the sleeves and pants also appears to change depending on the camera angle.
Thor’s gladiator markings do not match

During fights, Thor has unique red and blue paint applied to his skin, done by the makeup artists. The thickness and shape of the red stripe on his face varies depending on how close the camera is. Marks and smudges on his body and armor seem to appear and vanish with each hit he takes, and even the dirt on his mouth seems to magically reset during battles.
The obedience disk jumps around

As a huge cinema fan, I noticed a little continuity quirk with Thor’s control disk on Sakaar. They used this device to control him, and it was attached near his neck, but its placement seemed to move around a bit during the fight scenes – sometimes it was right at the base of his neck, other times higher up on his shoulder. Even stranger, the burn mark around where it was attached would disappear depending on the camera angle! Then, after the disk was removed, the mark would magically reappear in later shots. It’s a small detail, but as someone who loves getting lost in a movie, I definitely spotted it!
Grandmaster’s melt stick residue changes

Okay, so there’s this scene with the Grandmaster and his… well, let’s call it a ‘melt stick.’ What’s fascinating isn’t the stick itself, but what’s left of it. The goo it leaves on the floor is constantly shifting – it looks different depending on the camera angle, even within the same shot! Seriously, the shape, how far it spreads, even how shiny it is… it all changes. And if you pay close attention to the edges of the puddle, you’ll notice they line up with different floor tiles depending on the cut. It’s pretty clear the crew had to come in and reset the scene multiple times, and they didn’t quite get it right each time. It’s a really noticeable continuity error, honestly.
Surtur’s crown shifts in scale

The flaming crown holding Surtur’s power seems to change size depending on the camera angle. When we first see it in Odin’s vault and later during the ritual, its size compared to everything around it isn’t consistent. Sometimes the horns appear wider in close-up shots than in wider shots within the same scene. Also, the way the crown appears to sit on its stand doesn’t quite match up between different camera cuts.
Bifrost bridge damage resets mid battle

During the battle between Hela’s army and the Revengers, the Bifrost—a rainbow bridge—shows visible damage from the fighting, with cracks and craters appearing on its surface. However, these damages aren’t consistent. When the camera changes angles, some cracks disappear or move, and broken pieces even seem to repair themselves as the view widens. Even small chips along the bridge’s railing change shape between shots.
Escape ship capacity does not track on screen

The heroes manage to escape Asgard with many survivors on a makeshift ship, eventually moving them to a larger one. However, the number of people shown on deck doesn’t make sense – it changes between shots without explanation, suggesting inconsistencies in how many people were actually rescued. The size of the crowd seems to magically grow and shrink, and doesn’t match the number of survivors established earlier.
