This guide will walk you through exactly how to join, how to improve your rank and standing within the Sect, and what you need to do if you decide it’s not the right fit for you. How to Join the Midnight Blades Sect in Where Winds Meet
You can start the quest for joining the Midnight Blades Sect by going to Halo Peak in the Sundara Land region of northern Qinghe, found in the area called Where Winds Meet. Here’s how to begin:
- Head to the location marked on the map, and you’ll find a Seriously Injured Swordsman lying on the stones (exact location shown above).
- Talk with the dying Swordsman, and he’ll reveal that he was killed by the Midnight Blades with his last breath.
- Approach the center of the kill field, and the objective marker will shift, showing Icchantika, the Ferryman of the Midnight Blades, sitting cross-legged on a stone outcropping above you.
- Talk to Icchantika and select the “My heart is of the Asura Heart” option when prompted.
- The Ferryman will give you a token and tell you, “stain it with blood” in order to join the Midnight Blades.
- The goal is to kill any character (NPC or Player) with your own hand.
- Submit the Annihilation token to him, and you’ll be granted entry into the Midnight Blades.
After he dies, turn around and follow the quest marker to find a blood trail leading to a large number of dead bodies lying on the grass.
Return to Icchantika when the deed is done and select “Inherit karmic burden, join the Sect.”
You’ll immediately receive the Infernal Twinblades weapon upon joining the Sect successfully.
Okay, so listen up! Don’t, I repeat don’t, give Icchantika that Rouge Token. Seriously, if you do, you’ll end up joining the Nine Mortal Ways Sect instead of the Midnight Blades, and that’s not what I want! I’m aiming for the Blades, so keep that token safe from her.
How to Rank Up in the Midnight Blades Sect in Where Winds Meet
As a player, I’ve found the easiest way to rank up is to check the Sect menu and go to “Status.” It shows you exactly what you need to do! Once you complete those objectives, you’ll automatically level up, and the requirements will change to reflect your new rank. It’s super straightforward!
To find out how to get the items needed to improve your rank, simply click on the item in the menu, then click the “How to Obtain” link below it. This will take you directly to the challenges you need to complete to raise your Sect’s status.
You can enter the Sect at level 10, but player-versus-player combat (PvP) doesn’t become available until level 22. So, even if you join the Midnight Blades early, you won’t be able to improve your rank until you reach level 22.
How to Leave the Midnight Blades Sect in Where Winds Meet
Okay, so if I want to leave the Midnight Blades Sect, I just open up the Sect menu from the main screen and click the “Betray Master” button down at the bottom right. Be warned though, leaving isn’t easy! I’ll get kicked out and have to complete something called the “Severance Trial” in the Perception Forest. Sounds rough!
Okay, so the Severance Trials aren’t something you can just start when you feel like it. Forget looking for a menu option or anything. They just happen automatically as you play – you can’t manually trigger them. It’s a forced event, basically.
When you leave the Sect, your standing, reputation, and any progress you’ve made within it will be reset. However, you’ll keep any items you bought from the Sect shop and any skills you learned while a member.
Each of the factions in Where Winds Meet has shops selling special items and clothing. Make sure to buy everything you need before you go!
Can You Rejoin the Midnight Blades Sect in Where Winds Meet
Yes, you can rejoin the Midnight Blades Sect. After leaving, you’ll need to wait 24 hours before you can rejoin. To do so, go to the Sect section in the start menu, select Midnight Blades, and click the ‘Join Sect’ button at the bottom right. This will guide you through the process.
