Toby Wallace, who has appeared in shows like Euphoria and the film The Bikeriders, has been cast as one of the main characters in Netflix’s upcoming live-action Assassin’s Creed series. He’ll be a series regular in the thriller, which is based on the popular Ubisoft video game.
This show centers around a hidden conflict between two groups: one seeking to dictate humanity’s destiny, and the other battling to preserve individual freedom.
The show’s story unfolds against the backdrop of significant historical events. Unlike the games, the characters will be reimagined, as reported by Deadline.
Netflix and Ubisoft first teamed up in 2020 to create a TV series based on the popular video game, Assassin’s Creed. Filming is scheduled to start in Italy in 2026, but the specific time in history the show will be set in hasn’t been announced yet.
Roberto Patino and David Wiener lead the show, while Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, Genevieve Jones from Ubisoft Film & Television, and Matt O’Toole serve as executive producers.
Assassin’s Creed is a hugely popular video game series, selling more than 230 million copies around the world.
Alex Wolff is returning to Netflix after starring in the 2019 series The Society. He recently finished filming a recurring role on the third season of HBO’s Euphoria. He’s also been busy with several films, including The Bikeriders with Tom Hardy, Jodie Comer, and Austin Butler; Eden alongside Jude Law and Sydney Sweeney; Inside with Guy Pearce; and Justin Lin’s Last Days. Additionally, he appeared as Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones in Danny Boyle’s limited series Pistol.
The Australian actor has been praised by critics for his performances. He won the AACTA Best Lead Actor award in 2020 and the Marcello Mastroianni Award at the Venice Film Festival in 2019 for his role in the film Babyteeth.
