Good news for fans of the Rush Hour movies! Paramount Pictures is making a fourth film in the popular action-comedy series. After a long wait, Rush Hour 4 is officially in the works. Sources at Semafor report that former President Donald Trump specifically requested the studio bring the franchise back.
Brett Ratner, the director of the original three films, is back to direct the latest one. His career faced challenges following accusations in 2017, but he’s since become friendly with the Trump family through his work on the documentary Melania, which Amazon purchased for $40 million.
The Rush Hour movies feature Jackie Chan as a Hong Kong police inspector, Lee, and Chris Tucker as James Carter, a detective with the Los Angeles Police Department.
These films center around two detectives solving crimes in both Hong Kong and Los Angeles. Viewers love them for their exciting martial arts action, comedic moments, and the interesting contrast between Eastern and Western cultures.
The first three films were released between 1998 and 2007 and were financially successful, despite receiving varied reviews. Now, thanks to support from Trump and with Ratner directing again, a fourth movie is officially being made.
